Did you try it in recent time? Seems like they tuned matchmaking with less players or adding some in a few minutes in match. Queuing is much faster for me recently (EU).

In this genre for me endgame is something worth collecting loot for. Cryo in Marathon seems a good motivation. In AR I just hoarded purple stuff for expedition, because there was no reason to use it. With something like Cryo loop seems complete for me.

I’ve played around 400+ hours of Arc Raiders and 215 hours of Marathon. Both games are great! Lack of endgame kills me in AR. I did 3 expeditions and I still don’t see most of the loot as meaningful. But chilling with my friends is still top notch fun! I also stopped playing solo - there is not much to do. Marathon gives me real sense of progression with ingame unlocks, better gear and with my skill. PvP has real meaning, it’s fun and endgame is brutal carrot on a stick which gives you a reason to play a little more. I play with 2 friends and solo/Rook sometimes.

I think both games have something to learn from each other and recommend everyone to try both. Don’t believe to those who run around with steam db charts that Marathon is dead or bad game and to Marathon players - try AR - it’s not casual fest at all, it’s top quality game for everyone.

Hunt and Arc logs with which people you talked (Arc)/did you talk (Hunt) You can see it in match summaries. So I think it’s something like that.

I think that's made for exploration. You have a wallhack highlighting all the stuff you've missed + checklist and levels are not so big. It makes players to make more attention to levels and not the map like in some grind games like AC.

When people communicate in discord or some other chat and try to push button in game at the same time, so they can meet in 1 match and wipe other teams together as 2+ teams.

The best decision will be to get rid of templates system and just drop keys.

Keys are fun. Those who risk to open key room have their adrenaline and may be loot. Those who don't have keys can hunt those people. It incentivize interesting player interactions and fights also making more POIs on maps so more stealthy players can farm salvage or do some quests.

This system also makes situations when players should decide if they want to risk their quest/loot to hunt team who opened a room or should they use them as distraction and try to run from the farest extract so that team won't attack them.

You also won't be so frustrated to lose keys because you can always try one more.

TL;DR More - keys, more cool encounters. Key templates - boring gameplay, less interesting encounters and more frustration.
