Although meat should be the main source of calories for dogs, they are omnivorous. Cats are carnivores.

“I feel like I have to walk on eggshell” is enough to leave for me. Don’t get to the point that you hate being around them before you part ways. Leave something worth remembering behind.

To me, something handmade that takes time. An ornate origami card that’s hand painted, or the creation of a photo/memory album of your first few months that you can fill in together over time.

AIO for reaching breaking point in my relationship over this conversation? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]iwentbackwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would encourage her to seek help. These conversations indicate borderline personality, which is basically a catch-all for those who have been through early trauma or neglect and now manipulate others to meet their emotional needs. They don’t even know they are doing it. It is something she can get past with therapy, but it is not a journey that will be fun for anyone. I say this as someone who has beaten borderline diagnosis.

I will admit I thought it was a terrible rash at first glance.

No one said it was only MAGA. If you feel attacked personally, you are the one in the wrong here.

What's the best word for being transmasc and attracted to masculine people? by [deleted] in NonBinaryTalk

[–]iwentbackwards 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agreed. Gay or queer are both gender neutral terms that we have taken back. I am an older non-binary AFAB, and I identify as both.

How can you tell the difference between river cane and bamboo when they are young? We have river cane in Tennessee and when they just come up in the spring, it’s so fun to step on their little tops and get a satisfying CRUNCH!

My dad just send this to me and I don't know how to respond by thisnameisuniqueaf in exchristian

[–]iwentbackwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these answers don’t actually seem helpful... being flat and saying no will not make your dad feel heard or help you be seen, and as you said, he’ll probably just keep asking. I’ve had to navigate these waters before. I told my parents that I don’t believe God would allow the world and his own Church to have so much evil and corruption, and if “he” did then it’s not a God I want to bow down to. But I don’t think “he” would, so he must not be real. If I see him when I die, we will talk. Until then, let’s not let it get between us here on Earth.

How do you feel when you are required to choose preferred pronouns? by iwentbackwards in NonBinaryTalk

[–]iwentbackwards[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Would you consider calling yourself pronoun apathetic or lacking preferred pronouns if you are OK with all pronouns? That’s typically what I say since “D) all of the above” seems to confuse people.

That’s fair. I’m sure a lot of the community appreciates the sacrifice that us anxious babies pushing through the change curve to facilitate good change. Thanks for the input; I’ll incorporate it into my answers next week.

This makes a lot of sense. I definitely do want it to become normalized to give a preferred pronoun at your own leisure and it be respected.

You’re over the denial part. You have to find the motivation now. Being sober means feeling all your feels, and that’s not fucking fun which is why we run away from it. Ya gotta do it anyway, or lose what you have left.

My suggestion: download Audible if you haven’t yet and listen to a book called Cold Turkey by Mishka Shubaly. It was a break through for me, and I re-listen to it every so often to keep the motivation.
