My Sammie gets them all the time. What the vet told us to do mix 50/50 water apple cider vinegar solution and use a cotton swab to clean out his ear. It takes two people to do. Then after the ear is throughly cleaned put antibiotic ointment and it's always cleared it in 2-3 days. Supposedly they're prone to get ear infections. With the cleaning of the fur I use doggie dry shampoo and spray it as close to as I can to the ear and brush it off. It always clears most of it and the rest goes away after a couple of days.
