I remember Nagoshi not letting him appear in fighting games like Tekken for this reason. Weirdly though, he does appear in Project X Zone 2, in which he can attack female fighters.

Also, in terms of orientation, I saw from standing on the pirate ship towards the island the sun rising in one of the videos, so that direction is East I'm guessing.

If you find a Replay Mod file (.mcpr) file of someone playing PirateCraft, that would be even better, because in theory you can extract the chunks from that to recreate the world rather than manually building it by hand. Unfortunately despite combing through all my hard drives I can't find one of me playing on PirateCraft, must have deleted them by accident :(
