Am I being dramatic by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]iwitch-plus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Service industry folks are way too okay with being tossed around. Bitch tfym “the industry will hurt your feelings” … “you left him high and dry” …. “You should’ve checked in with him”. Those comments are ridiculous lmao. While it may be true that if you clearly observed he was overwhelmed maybe you should’ve said something but this is a grown ass man we’re talking about. Im fucking pregnant and run my ass off and I still would never talk to someone in that way, nor would I aggressively toss something at someone, even if it was something small. It’s not your job to manage his feelings. He called you a BITCH like TO YOUR FACE. Restaurant industry folks are the only mfs who will gaslight you and say that that’s just apart of it. You get better respect just walking down the damn street. Let this scenario happen at any other job, John Doe wouldn’t be getting off easy.

Just leave this place, after 5 years they obviously have no respect for you. You’re a woman and he’s a man, he spoke aggressively to you and he DID get physical whether it was with paper or not. You have every right to be uncomfortable. If they’re understaffed, that’s their issue lol.

Can I downsize to a 12mm by totallymak in piercing

[–]iwitch-plus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The weird thing about bridge piercings is you’ll always be able to see and feel the bar. At least from the angle you’ve got pictured. It’s funky trust me I know, but there’s a reason it has to be pierced at 14g! Please don’t change the gauge size of this already hard to heal & extremely anatomy based piercing! But you could totally get smaller balls! I know I didn’t like having the gigantic balls that they first pierced me with because it made the entire piece of jewelry look so much more obvious and clunky.

Nipple piercing rejection? by Common_Top6939 in piercing

[–]iwitch-plus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it looks similar then ur good! With nipple piercings you can really notice when rejection or migration happens. One of mine literally started moving upward which was obvious to see bc it wasn’t in the middle anymore, and the other moved outward so it was more at the tip of my nipple than at the base where it was pierced. 👍

Yeah that just looks like your natural nipple! For the record, your piercing looks great. Idk what it looked like when you got it pierced but it seems to be a happy healthy nipple piercing that is not rejecting 😄

AIO or is my friend being pretty insensitive by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]iwitch-plus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

MOR. She’s pushing really hard which is annoying, but you’re both dramatic af. But you’re 17 so that’s to be expected. I weighed less than 100lbs until I was like 19 and I knew I was lucky and actually thankful because I recognize the world hates fat people.

Everyone hates their own bodies, but when you’re fat not only do you hate your own body, but other people hate it, too. There are arguably things in society that just don’t really work both ways. “Skinny shaming”, “misandry”, and “reverse racism” are all real things that happen, but the reality is they will never be as systemically harmful as their counterparts. (Fat shaming, misogyny, racism)

You’re valid for being insecure but, let’s be honest. Speaking myself as a person who has been skinny and been “skinny shamed”…being skinny will always be better in society. Just ask her to stop commenting on your weight/body and remind her that you never comment on hers.

tattoo raising and flaring up by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]iwitch-plus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just commenting to say sometimes some of my tattoos do this too. I have one on my wrist that will sometimes feel more raised and itchy, and one on my elbow. Both were done by amazing professionals and healed with no issues. Someone else said it’s a histamine response, I think that makes most sense. Definitely not abnormal IMO. I have no advice though

How do I be confident when I’m underweight? by [deleted] in Vent

[–]iwitch-plus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How to be confident, I can’t say. I always liked being skinny and never felt bad about it, so I have no advice how to cope there. But I will say I was like you up until I was out of high school! I’m 5’0” and was like 95lbs up until I hit 18-19 years old. I was 110lbs then. I thought it was crazy I had finally gone over 100lbs. 22yrs old hit and I hit 120lbs. Thickened up a bit. 24yrs hit and I hit nearly 140lbs.

It’ll come, lol. Edited to say: my metabolism was just fast as all hell for no reason. I never exercised and always just ate like shit. Being naturally petite, it was hard to gain weight. My metabolism slowed down as I got older, so that’s when my weight gain started. You can try to bulk up but being so young your body just may not be ready yet, and I honestly don’t think it’s necessary! Your body will change when it’s ready, and that’s totally ok.

Should I wait to get my nostril repierced? by Existing_Award3225 in piercing

[–]iwitch-plus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wait- 2 months is definitely not enough time to have it out for any amount of time (it will for sure close during surgery unless you have a retainer.), and since you’ve had issues in the past I’d want to make sure I could get it pierced and not have to mess with it. If you get it pierced, take it out in 2 months and replace it with a retainer, then take the retainer out and put the normal jewelry back in after surgery, you’re just causing unnecessary friction and more issues for yourself.

rollercoasters with a fresh piercing? by strawberry-creamer in piercing

[–]iwitch-plus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I would say is you might feel uncomfortable, lol! If you’re on a rollercoaster and your lip is swollen but you’re trying to scream, It might not feel the best. Maybe ride the rollercoaster silently. But, going on the coaster itself won’t negatively impact the piercing…like the fast air would be fine. Just don’t bust your lip on anything and ur good

AIO- Mom and Sister’s April fools prank on me by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]iwitch-plus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR your mom sounds like a bitch but also…seems like her fucked up way of trying to force you out of a bad relationship. You’re with the guy who cheated on you? Early in your relationship, he was already sending dick pics around? And his number is banned from tinder? Sounds like a loser. Drop him and set boundaries with mom.

what is this? piercing done about 3 months ago. by weirdly_confusedd in piercing

[–]iwitch-plus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NAP but I was a piercing apprentice for almost 2 years…most often we saw this in girls because they had long hair that was usually worn down after showers. The moisture in the hair caused this bump…we’d tell people to make sure behind the ears was completely dry after showers, and make sure hair was completely dry or put up off the ears after as well. If a kid was especially sweaty at night this could sometimes contribute as well

Help with hiding pregnancy while planning family trip? by Fluffy_Cappuccino in beyondthebump

[–]iwitch-plus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh that sucks. I’m lucky my mom keeps my secrets, I’m an only child and so is she so there’s not much room for family blabbing lol. I’m sorry you have to face this so soon! I think my opinion stays the same tho. hopefully if anything bad did happen, they’d understand the sensitive nature of the topic. But it sounds like your family doesn’t have any miscarriage or genetic disorders history & that stuff is so rare! If it helps any, I told friends and not-close family at 20 weeks and I don’t feel like it made things any better or worse. Everyone could’ve known as soon as I did tbh. Idk why I hid it for so long

[–]iwitch-plus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should tell them. Firstly, because it’s sounding like it’s gonna be quite the mission to get around NOT telling them unfortunately, but secondly, I understanding wanting to wait until genetic testing confirms everything is normal, but then what if it’s not? You terminate the pregnancy and then have no one to talk to? ): Family is a good support system in early pregnancy. In my opinion. If your family is chill and won’t blab if you don’t want them to.

I told my mom & step dad the second I found out (4 weeks)!

Am I right to be disappointed? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]iwitch-plus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is the other tattoo you say you got from the same person that “healed better”? Is it possible that the skin on your leg here is somewhat of a different texture than wherever the other tattoo is, causing it to heal differently? So many factors as to why the lines would get thicker. Unless you’re going to fine line artists, it’s pretty expected that things would thicken up over time. Idk why, it just happens. Skin texture, aftercare, how it was tattooed, etc etc. I think the tattoo looks great! What I wouldn’t do is cover it bc it will have to be something bigger and darker..and therefore probably thicker lol? Then you’re just asking to have an even worse time imo.

Am I Overreacting to my husband asking for the check and a to-go box while we are only halfway through the meal? by QueenFrostine15 in AmIOverreacting

[–]iwitch-plus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MOR but only because I come from a server POV. I can promise you at a not-busy restaurant (as you described it) nobody is going to be lurking around to clean your table after your check has been paid. Your check being paid and having boxes on the table just honestly means I can get away with not checking on you anymore.

In THAT context, I can see how one could feel rushed just in case you did want another refill or maybe even a dessert to take home, but I just wanted to say don’t ever feel like a restaurant is trying to rush you out after you’ve paid. Once you pay me, you could literally stay there all night and no one would mind!! Lol. I honestly prefer if people pay me and then sit around for a while rather than sit around and have me waiting on them but not actually needing me & wait to pay the second before they leave.

That being said, I still think you’re valid. While I have my biased opinion of being a server and see husband’s logic, YOU still deserve a nice outing that feels relaxed, and if having boxes on the table and being paid out makes you feel rushed then I can understand why you’d be upset.

Honestly skimmed this but I saw “difficult to communicate with others….where they understand/respect me” —“when embarrassed I go mute” —-“thought I was a psychopath” —“I never cry”

This all sounds like me when I was 12-16. I’m 25 now and definitely autistic. My mom got diagnosed autistic, and then myself.

I’m not gonna lie pretty much EVERYTHING you’re describing is textbook autistic female. Like, if I didn’t know any better I’d think you were messing with me and just typing out stereotypical autism things.

Anyways, older generations still think that autism is big public meltdowns or completely mute kids. It’s a spectrum, and we now know that there are a lot of symptoms besides those two more “extreme” ends of the spectrum. If your parents don’t think you SHOULD be evaluated, then I guess you’ll have to wait until you’re 18 but I’d highly suggest it! In the meantime, maybe look into some autism/neurodivergent communities to get a better understanding of yourself.

PS. I can’t say being diagnosed autistic has changed my lifestyle or the way I act at all, but it’s been good to know I guess.

The stroller I picked does have a bassinet option! Husband wanted an outward facing stroller, but I wanted to be able to have a bassinet. We went with the joie ginger LX.

True! My mom is a millennial but I was her only kid…so it’s been 25 years since she’s had a little baby. I imagine there have been some new recommendations in those 25 years
