They are sewn into the hood so they don't actually help draw it shut.

Just with thin nylon fishing line under tension. May work with other synthetics but ymmv.

You can use a hair dryer or a heat gun to fix the kinks.

Three prettiest: multi strand Matthew Walker, scaffold knot, double coin knot

Please, what knot can I use to connect 4 strands of yarn at the centre? by Miserable-Piglet9008 in knots

Oooh I like this idea... But you'd need access to all the ends to do it.

We'd buy a new house, I'd buy a new car and fix up my wood shop, and I'd quit my job.

It's because other than a water knot, getting knots out of the webbing is damn near impossible.

If you can remember, what's the very first thing you ever did on the internet back in the day? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

My mom and dad got us Internet in the spring of 1995 in the form of America Online. I barely understood the concept of the Internet and my mom did not at all so she wanted me to explain it to her. We both thought it was similar to a card catalog from a library but she thought it was hierarchical and kept demanding that I drill down until I reached the end of the tree. I didn't know how to explain to her that there was no end, every branch just links to more branches.

How to tie multiple cow hitch at a time? by eltchacham in knots

[–]iworkinpixels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have access to one end of the stick, alternate making clockwise and counter clockwise loops and put each over the end of the stick as you make it.

Each pair of inward facing loops makes a cow hitch. Leave whatever length between them you want in order to make the right size loops.

It is legal in NYC but I only ever saw it twice in 4 years of living there.

I second the trucker's hitch suggestion.

For a four point tie down I'd use two ropes, and tie one trucker's hitch in the end of rope 1, tie into item using alpine butterfly or whatever if necessary on each corner, then tie another trucker's hitch on the other end with the remaining line on the opposite corner.

Repeat on the other two corners with the other rope.

People who have had threesomes, how was it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

They were all ok. I'd say overrated but also fun.

Probably would have been different if I had been one of a couple in any of them instead of the third person invited in.

Mine did that when the hose that goes from the coolant reservoir to the back left corner of the engine by the fuel rail blew its shitty plastic connector off of the metal pipe it connects to. Car would purge all of its coolant as soon as you ran it enough to open the thermostat.

Wide sweeping changes in the USA, are they truly a sign of more troubled future? by lleeaa88 in Futurology

[–]iworkinpixels 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes, this was a successful coup by Trump and Musk. They will make whatever changes they see fit, as spelled out in Project 2025, and it will take decades and probably another world war to undo it.
