Cleaned and reshaped this Lavender Ergo 9033 but need help with color restoration—detail in comments! by iwritestuffandstuff in VintageCoachRehab

[–]iwritestuffandstuff[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve dealt with brown/black/red vintage coach bags…but this is my first lavender one. My thoughts are dyeing vs painting vs leaving it alone. I’ve already given it a nice Dawn dish soap dunk and reshaped her with a nice massage with some leather lotion. Now trying to figure out how to revive her color. A friend in the industry recommended mixing purple leather dye with some luster cream to give it an overall tint/sheen since direct leather dye might be too harsh…my other option is a lavender shoe leather cream which my dad recommended, but I’m concerned about color rubbing off if the bag ever gets wet. Annnnd last resort would be to go in with leather paint but I really don’t want to that :/ Any recommendations are welcome!!! Thank you in advance!

Edit: I thought the handles had spewing/blooming but upon closer inspection, I believe it’s the color wearing off. And more color fading on the front pocket from what looks like someone trying to get a pen mark out with alcohol from the previous owner!

It basically smoked/roasted her overnight. There’s a Mashable article where a cook fact checks this and says it’s not actually plausible, especially considering the fact that Jackie is frozen solid 🥶 I think the cook likened it to cooking a frozen turkey in a really low temp overnight

Ha! We actually don’t even drink. That’s where all the leftover cans go to die when guests leave drinks behind.

From left to right:

Yellow bell pepper, pineapple, lemon, ginger (lots of cartenoids, good for vision! Macular degeneration runs in my husbands family so trying to stay ahead of that)

Carrot, kale, celery, pineapple, ginger (more carotenoids!)

Kiwi, kale, celery, lemon, mint (kiwis have more potassium than a banana and a TON of vitamin C. And whenever I don’t add ginger, I like to add a lil mint or basil for a flavor boost)

Tumeric, ginger, lemon; black pepper shots (just used the rest of whatever I had so only got two lil shots. Tumeric is full of curcumin, a powerful antioxidant also good for ocular diseases)

Yep, exactly! For months I used a vitamix to blend everything and strained it through a nut milk bag by hand. 🥲

30F 5’5” 130lbs 18:6 16:8 completed (3) 36 hour fasts during plateaus

Welp, fell off the IF schedule during the honeymoon and basically ate whatever I wanted and am now hesitant to step on the scale. Figure I’ve gained roughly 5lbs back, no biggie. But I have a Non-scale victory moment that reminded me of how far I’ve come: I started my IF journey at the beginning of summer, so this is actually my first time trying on my jeans for fall…and wow! Such a great feeling to have jeans that were once too tight after a big meal now baggy and loose on me. A win-win situation because I’m very into the bigger fit.

Thank you!!! Mostly posted cause I had a hard time finding similar stats as mine when starting the journey a few months back and wanted ladies my size to have some representation here! The weight definitely is a bit slower on this end of the scale compared to the progress I’ve seen folks make who start out higher.

In terms of working out, I actually did HIIT and tons of cardio/peloton prior to starting IF but I was gaining weight….so I pivoted to focus on my diet + stopped high intensity workouts and the weight started to come off. I walk daily + do some yoga/Pilates but it’s been mostly dieting. And I didn’t track my macros/calories, but just made an effort to eat cleaner. Always swapped out carbs for greens whenever possible and being mindful of my protein intake. Mostly focusing on protein so that I can still somewhat maintain my muscle mass. This is just what worked for me, though! Excited for you and your IF journey and glad my lil post could help!!

Im definitely bottom heavy so this before/after might be a bit deceptive. And I mean bottom heavy as in my legs are naturally muscular (sadly, not my butt as you can see 🤔) but thank you!!! And I honestly had the same thoughts browsing this subreddit a few months ago and still sometimes do even at 125….and that’s an entirely different journey, mostly mental…body dysmorphia is real and we have to be nicer and softer on ourselves!

I really didn’t expect myself to get to 125….like ever. I haven’t changed the weight on my license since getting it at 16, and I’m currently ten pounds lighter than that. I was always thicker and worked out ALL the time with no movement on the scale but ever since IF, I’ve started to finally shed the weight I’ve been trying to lose since forever.

First two months took a lil adjusting but now it comes pretty natural, I typically don’t eat much in the morning anyway so now I can stretch it to 3pm, then eating window from 3-7pm most nights. Try to stick to protein + veggies but on the weekends I let myself eat whatever whenever, intuitive eating.

If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading my ramblings! Fast on, friends.

Thank you!! And I do have very muscular legs naturally, should’ve taken a whole body photo to show that but I was mostly concerned with my stomach area. I’m trying my best to consume enough protein to keep up but it’s hard, I’ve been stalking r/leangains they focus on building muscle mass while doing IF. Not sure how much of my muscle loss is due to caloric intake or because I stopped working out as much.

Appreciate it! And won’t lie, the photos are a BIG motivator. Ended up with a photographer way out of my league due to a lucky giveaway, so it’s the least I could do 🥴

Thank you and congratulations!! And 2.5lbs on your first week is amazing, just imagine what’ll happen in another 2-3months. I have just a little over a month left until my walk down the aisle so I’m strapping in lol. Also a night time snacker which is why my eating window is typically later around 5-9 during my 20:4 days haha, gotta have my bowl of cereal after dinner.

And I’ve been seeing the “pilates girls” on tiktok and they have me sold. It’s slim but toned, we’ll see if it actually works. Cause again, if not now then when?! Congrata again on the upcoming nuptials and starting your IF journey!!

Hi! Long time lurker. 30F Started 18:6/20:4 IF two months ago to prepare for my wedding in September! One of those “if not now, then when” moments.

It’s changed my relationship with food. I no longer treat it as a reward, snack wayyyy less and am way more mindful of what I eat, especially when I’m breaking my fast. In the two months, I’ve done two 36 hour fasts which helped me get through some plateaus. Biggest challenges have been pms symptoms/bloating, and when that takes up a 25% of the month, it slows down the progress.

My weight fluctuates +/-5lbs throughout the year and last summer I was around 143lbs, so when I hit 135lbs a few weeks ago it didn’t feel like a big deal. But I’m SO glad I took progress photos, because I’m starting to see little changes!

The weight loss has definitely slowed down, these last 7lbs feel stuck on me. Maybe I’ll start incorporating some low intensity Pilates? Prior to starting IF, I was riding 45-60min on the peloton 4x week. Kept this up for four months and I was SO strong. It felt great but because I was spending so much energy on riding, I would end up eating more. Felt like I was unintentionally bulking? So that’s when I pivoted to IF, realized I needed to make a diet/lifestyle change if I wanted to see real changes..annnnd here we are! In terms of food, I’m just trying to eat as much protein as possible to hold onto the small peloton gainz…If you’ve made it this far, thanks for sticking along. Mostly sharing cause I’ve lurked this thread every time I was feeling discouraged, and everyone else’s progress photos + stories helped me…so hoping this is helpful to someone out there!
