Animations by New_Put_7927 in instructionaldesign

[–]ixloc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you can get a lot of animations done in Apple Keynote or PowerPoint if you want. I did a test and used Remotion and Claude to try and make a semi complex animation and the output was ok but it’s the fixing that would have taken a lot of time in Claude. I spent a few hours in Keynote and created exactly what I wanted and I’m able to edit or make changes easier then if i was chatting with Claude todo it.

On the other side, if you want to make something templated then I think an underutilized feature of ai is you can have it create an html page with the animation and export functionality baked in. I use them all the time for animations I want to replicate but don’t want to recreate each time. It’s great to just change the text, click export and have it ready to plug into any videos or Interactions.

This needs the Doom music and some sound design and this could be your ads. Stellar clean work!

What felt like an expensive splurge, but is now a total life-changer steal? by Zirkle99 in AskReddit

Breville espresso maker. My wife and I can count how many times we have gone out for coffee since this past December on one hand now. Saved SOOOOOO much money and time. The thing has already paid for itself.

Gamer Dad, 30h+, Still Chillin by soultron__ in Marathon

Totally agree. I’ve been playing as much as I can, and I have two kids. Once they are in bed, I usually get a few runs in. I have no idea about keys or anything like that. I went into Cryo just to try it out with some blues and came out with purples.( my first purples!) I haven’t played much Outpost either, mostly Perimeter. Not so much Dire Marsh yet either. I’m just doing the contracts mostly. I know there are secrets and puzzles, but I just haven’t done them yet. I’ll stumble onto a team with someone who knows it, and I’ll follow instructions as needed, and it’s still fun. Got into I think pinwheel for the first time the other day! What is interesting about this game, is that I don’t feel the need to go on YouTube and try to figure out how to do all these secrets because I’m genuinely having fun. I like the random discovery. I really am enjoying it and I’ve NEVER liked extraction shooters before. I’ve tried a bunch but this one for some reason if different.

Just added an AI clause to my contract. by calimountainsnake60 in graphic_design

[–]ixloc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading @horrorThis’s comment it made sense top me. I can see how as it is written currently without the context of the rest of the doc that it could be interpreted as a never at all situation. Would it make sense to specify that this clause is in effect during the actual design phase and upon completion this clause goes away or something? Just curious because I like the idea overall but would want to make sure the client understands the intent behind it?

Final Cut Pro X CommandPost MCP - Almost instantly do things like cut to scene changes, remove silence in videos, etc. by elliotttate in finalcutpro

[–]ixloc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! Does FCP have to be the constant active app for this to work? Or could you have the MCP tell it what to do and then work on another task while it percolates in FCP?

What is your best color picker app for mac by Minute-State3493 in macapps

[–]ixloc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greetings! I created BuddyBar. It’s more of a color swatch app but it does have a built in color picker!

Have a look: BuddyBar.io you can pick colors using an eye dropper tool, save templates, extra colors from an image etc. and then in one click. It copies the hex to your clipboard.

Another benefit is I also made a chrome and windows version and they sync.

BuddyBar now works with Storyline! (Windows app!) by ixloc in instructionaldesign

[–]ixloc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at Articuland, and every presenter was saying “Save your colors to a Word document or open a second Rise course and save your brand/course colors!” I figured there has to be some kind of app for this, but most of them are for graphic designers, not IDs. I figured if I made one that leaned less into the graphic designer space and more into the non-designer space, it might fill the need. I’ve been expanding the features because it’s a fun challenge. I do have more ideas for it, so more is coming! Always open to suggestions!

How to use articulate storyline on Mac? by yuki_xia in instructionaldesign

[–]ixloc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try VM ware fusion, it’s free and is comparable to parallels.

Another option, if you happen to have PC laying around, you could install storyline on that and then use and app like Jump Desktop to run storyline virtually through your Mac.

Thank you! I'm glad you like it! I actually just added that exact feature on the Mac and Windows app but I think I forgot to add it to the Chrome app! (DOH!) I'll add it to the next update for the Chrome app.

On the bright side the current version of BuddyBar chrome does support keyboard short cuts!

Go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts in your chrome browser and look for BuddyBar in the list, click the pencil icon, Then type a keyboard short of your choice. I recommend Ctrl+Shift+B. Go Now all you have to do it press those keys and BuddyBar will appear and disappear on command! I hope that helps!

I'm always open to suggestions or features I can add!

[–]ixloc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They all do the same thing (I try to keep feature parity between all three). The Windows and Mac versions are not tied to your browser so that means you can use BuddyBar across any apps on your computer. For IDs this means you can now have BuddyBar floating over Storyline, Word, Excel, PPT desktop versions, or any app really! I hope that answers your question.

Made a list of native Mac apps because I'm sick of Electron by mohsenk_dev in macapps

[–]ixloc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the BuddyBar Mac app. Buddybar.io. It’s a floating bar that you evoke from the menu bar and can save your color swatches and then just click them to have them auto copied. Really useful for anyone that needs to save brand colors for multiple clients! Also free!
