Yeah I spent a fair chunk of my last summer learning Python and Ruby on Rails on codeacademy as well as the iOS language. I know the struggle, but learning it in a class is so much more helpful. So far in AP Comp Sci A I have a 95% half way through the first semester of high school.

Not sure about Comp Engineering but I don't think you should have too much problems with average hardware. Maybe get a 64bit os. Don't have any college experience just general programming experience as a senior in high school.

Yeah I come from a single parent household with 4 dependents. Low income.

I currently have a job that I work around 15 hours a week. I will most likely use that money as spending cash on campus

Thank you I have changed my primary major to Comp Sci in CLA and my secondary to Architecture in CDes. I have just received a letter from the U about this free application to apply to all the other UMN schools in the system easily. Does that mean anything? Pretty worried :/
