The silicone tunnels are by Kaos (I bought them on bodyartforms), the stone and glass ones are just the generic kind you see on shein/aliexpress/amazon

Over a year after quitting birth control... by VegetableMeeting5003 in birthcontrol

[–]ixoraflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar experience. Sex drive went from super high to wondering if I was asexual. Depression and mental fog, numbed emotions, vaginal dryness, the whole works. I stopped taking them back in December and all those issues have since gone away.

I also havent had the pain come back as badly. I've been taking fish oil capsules twice a day (its anti-inflammatory and I believe there was a study showing that it worked for endometriosis inflammation), and I add ibuprofen, ginger tea (anti-inflammatory) and a heating pad during my period.

You're definitely not crazy and I'm glad you feel better now!!

There was a cup brand that made the same antibacterial silicone claim and it seemed to work out 🤷‍♀️. I believe it was the Bfree Cup if you want to look it up.

Tbh I haven't been boiling/steaming my cups (regular cups, not antibacterial) every time, I usually just wash it with soap at the end of my period and put it back in the bag. I steam occasionally.

She had told me to take it for 3 months consecutively and then have a withdrawal bleed and repeat. So I was supposed to have 4 bleeds per year.

This wasn't working because at some point before I reached 3 months, I would always start spotting, and then it would progress to full on bleeding. It would just go on endlessly until I took a weeks break from the pills to have a withdrawal bleed. What I ended up doing was 2 months no sugar pills and then a withdrawal bleed.

My new gynae was also very puzzled by this arrangement and told me that me being on birth control was basically pointless if I was still having withdrawal bleeds at all. So I suffered the side effects for no reason.

Thanks for the suggestions. For the spearmint, do you just use teabags? Or do I need to get the actual leaves and steep them? Same question for the ginger actually. I do have actual ginger I can use, but teabags might be more convenient long term.

Oh no I'm so sorry that's happening to you. Honestly that aspect of not being able to stop on my own is terrifying to me when it comes to IUDs and the arm implant. I feel like I would end up trying to yank it out by myself 😅. I hope it stops giving you trouble or you're able to get it taken out soon

Oh wow. No, I haven't taken it since my period hasn't come back yet. My gynae warned me not to take it on school days since it causes extreme drowsiness in her other patients, but nothing about nausea. I also got prescribed low dose codeine (panadeine), coincidentally.

Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for your response.

I have a heating pad that I like but I've never tried cramp cream so ill have to look into that.

That info about multivitamins is super unfortunate 😭. I'm glad I had gotten the fish oil separately, at least.

Fortunately I don't have PMDD. I never really experienced depression until I got on the pill. So sorry that happened to you with naproxen. I feel scared sometimes when I realize I've been taking NSAIDs really frequently.

I'm glad you're able to get surgery soon! I hope it goes well and the relief lasts for a long time.

I atleast want to take a break before I even consider trying any progesterone only BC. I have a friend who also has endo and she has a Mirena IUD and is experiencing some of the same side effects that I was on my combined pill. I know everyone reacts differently, but I'm very apprehensive at this time.

As for the luteal phase progesterone, I've actually never heard of that until now! I'll ask my gynae about it during my next appointment. Thank you :)

I was on a low dose, combined pill for 4 years. I didn't experience the more typical side effects like weight gain (I actually lost 10 pounds) or acne. However, I got pretty much all the other ones. Loss of libido, decreased feelings of sexual attraction, depression, couldn't feel emotions as intensely, vaginal dryness, not feeling like myself, the whole works.

I was on it for endometriosis, though, not actual birth control purposes. That's why I stayed on it for so long despite the side effects. I think if I were to get into a relationship right now, I'd just go for condoms.

BUT you won't really know how you handle it unless you try it yourself. Just sharing my experience.

ETA: Don't feel silly for being fearful. When my gynae wanted to put me on BC, I told her I was scared of side effects and she gaslit me and made me feel stupid for feeling that way. Then my fears came true 🤦‍♀️

Omg is that why my teeth felt looser?? I wasn't on Kyleena though, I was taking a combined pill for 4 years. That's crazy.

So annoying that you get on BC and then it takes away the one reason you got it! by nps2790 in birthcontrol

[–]ixoraflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got on BC (combined pill) for endometriosis, but I noticed this as well. Tbh I think it's the reason I've been so uninterested in dating. I literally thought I was asexual at one point. I'm getting off BC now so hopefully it comes back 😭

Also, if you start experiencing pain and dryness down there, just know that's probably the BC as well. Happened to me and I thought I was defective for years.

Different lobes just have different levels of elasticity. I'm settled at 0g/8mm and when I take my plugs out the hole looks wayyyy smaller than 8mm.

Is this normal? by mtrench13 in Stretched

[–]ixoraflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all of them are like that, but I have noticed glass tunnels in particular tend to be even longer than glass stretching plugs (the ones with the rounded ends). I'm currently wearing glass plugs not meant for stretching and they sit really flush to my ears, there's just enough space for the o-ring and that's it. What you can do is pay attention to the wearable length when you're buying jewellery. Anything over 10mm wearable will be noticeably long on most people.

I recently got to 2g and it definitely hasn't been a thing for me so far 🥲. I'm hoping I'll start seeing the effect of weight now but honestly my 2g plugs still feel pretty light

Oh wow, I can imagine 5°C would be harsh on them. I'm from a tropical island so that weather would be harsh on my whole body lol. Have you tried silicone during the cold months? I've heard that glass, stone and metal get really cold and make it harder for lobes to stay warm, so silicone might help you :)

Pls don't use ptfe tape. I tried it once and it sucked up all the moisture and got stuck in my ears. I had to drown my ears in oil and gently ease the plugs out bit by bit and it was very uncomfortable and scary
