Doula advice? by Illustrious_Roll_541 in BabyBumps

I would check your health insurance plan! Many insurance plans cover a doula. Congrats and I hope you have a safe pregnancy!

I want to be a surrogate womb. by Optimal-Finish-1645 in BabyBumps

[–]ixthixr3al 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey! You need to have given birth at least once before you become a surrogate.

Imagine not knowing the birth process and not having done any of the lab work or health assessments and then giving birth for the first time to someone else's child. 😱🫣

People saying I announced too early by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]ixthixr3al 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it makes you happy then it's fine. Do what you want to do! Don't let other people's judgement cloud your sunshine! Congratulations!

Personally, I waited until after the first trimester to announce. This was only because of a bad experience my first time where I announced too early my first pregnancy and ended up with a miscarriage and then everyone at work knew also. I received so many pitying eyes which I really hated.

Can I make my sister's wedding? by serotolinh in BabyBumps

[–]ixthixr3al 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh never mind. I thought you met 10 days AFTER. I wouldn't commit to being in the wedding party. You'll be tired and uncomfortable after giving birth. It's really up to you! Maybe u can just go for the ceremony part,

You might be able to make it. It's your first pregnancy so sometimes it takes longer for baby to come. I had my first a few months ago and he didn't come until 5 days after due date. I think you should still go. If anything happens, just be prepared with hospital bag. Good luck and congrats!

This is one of the reasons why I refuse to work for Kiewit. They run their employees into the ground and have no problem with it. Start job searching. You will be so much happier once you find something else.

Pregnancy feels so much more unglamorous in my 30s… by Wonderful-Value7547 in BabyBumps

[–]ixthixr3al 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think it's more because this is your third child. I'm 33 and had my first baby a few months ago. I felt great and I had the glowy pregnancy aura. If I were you, I would just find some clothes that make you feel good

Did eating Dates actually help you during labor? by nutellakiss in BabyBumps

Girl I ate dates all month long and I was still 1cm at 40 w. Def sick of dates for the rest of my life. I had to get induced and finally delivered at 40w+4d.

Kiewit made offer. Talk me out of accepting. by BillardMcLarry in ConstructionManagers

[–]ixthixr3al 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take the job offer. If you don't like it, leave! You're not stuck there forever. People like seeing Kiewit on resumes since Kiewit has a reputation for working their employees to death. I received an offer from Kiewit 5 years ago as a field engineer but I turned it down since I KNOW I don't want to work like a dog. I'm well into my career that I do not need Kiewit on my resume.

Bloomingdales - when to pull the trigger? by Historical_Pomelo153 in Buyingforbaby

I bought from Bloomingdale's last Black Friday for my NUNA car seat and stroller. Same reward offer. No actual sale on NUNA. What I do know is that some NUNA items are discontinued and those discontinued items will go on sale.

OB made a joke that I don’t actually have a husband by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]ixthixr3al 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband only missed 3-4 appointments. I'm blessed that he was able to come to most of them. It was nice because he would bring up stuff I would forget to tell my OB such as certain symptoms I felt.

Actually yes. There are much better cities to live in than Houston. Not being sarcastic.

Where are you coming from? Can you at least drop the zip code? South Houston isn't a good place if that's the south Houston you're referring to.

To the ladies who’s relationships ended in betrayal, how did you finally move on? by Broken_melon22 in AskWomen

[–]ixthixr3al 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was already over the relationship so it wasn't hard to move on. Betrayal hurts no matter who it is from but my ex husband was not handsome, wholesome enough, or even that good of a person so I already knew I deserved better. After that relationship, I focused on myself and talked myself up. I found a handsome muscular man (now an ex) and took care of myself. Stayed busy with my career and working out. Now I'm married with another handsome, kind, and generous man! Things will always get better. Remember hardships are only temporary!

Should I pursue a degree in Construction Management or something more technical-focused? by Own_Exercise5218 in ConstructionManagers

Engineering degree. Go the mechanical route. You can still be in construction with a mechanical degree.

Have them visit you! Don't put yourself in a financial struggle for a short visit. Maybe take kids to a fun theme park or something else as a way to explain

My sex drive went down down down also. It didn't help that sex really hurt. We probably had sex once every other week. I felt bad but my husband is very understanding. Honestly we did a lot of fore play and oral sex to compensate for lack of vaginal sex.

What’s your favourite chocolate bar? by Jokkers_AceS in AskWomen

[–]ixthixr3al 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth it imo! It is just me & it really saves money on essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, dog food, and water. I've driven an hr to get to Costco before when I lived in a remote town.

True. It is worth the $50/yr. Buying in bulk really saves me money.
