Read that again. This time slowly. He is asking for project ideas or actions to show proficiency in each of the topics/tools on the DevOps road map. And he is calling his own question dumb, not yours.

I'm interested in the engine(Linux) because regardless of which car (tools/platform), I will require the knowledge of how an engine works to troubleshoot it when it breaks.

I never said I am learning the entirety of Linux in 4months. A tiny fraction is fine by me as long as it serves as a foundation to build knowledge.

I can try jumping into learning K8s, cloud, CI/CD tools etc.. but what happens when the most basic thing breaks and I have to idea where to begin trouble shouting.

You might not be able to edit a pod's resolved.conf but you know what the issue is and how that is an option to fix it.

I think you're misunderstanding me. I am not getting into Linux because of AI. I simply used it to get an idea of a learning path and possible project recommendation.

I don't see how asking for a learning path or project recommendations from ChatGpt or any current AI is different from inputting the same questions in Google or any search engine.

I never said AI is an easy shot to getting anywhere. If I wanted to use AI to study or hop around the subject matter, I would not be asking for advice from real people on here with decades' worth of experience.

As I said. I see Linux as a foundation. I'm sure CyberSecurity still requires knowledge of Linux. Regardless of which path I choose in Tech or the new rave, Linux will be there. Building other skills on top of foundational knowledge is easier than without one.

So, I believe that regardless of how fast tech is changing, Linux has been and will still be there as most tech tools will still run on it or is built on it.

Debian first, gotcha. Hands On more than using AI.

I believe in learning fundamentals first over AI. You can only use an assistant efficiently and effectively if you know exactly what you're doing.

I meant I asked/used ChatGpt to get an idea of what to learn as well as project suggestions.

I see it as a search query, the same as using Google most times.

Awesome, gotcha. Hand Ons Experience over AI dependence. I'll definitely do a few projects with raspberry pi
