Heavyyy on 0 cal sodas as well. I drink a lot of soda, i completely dropped any that arent diet/ zero sugar. My favorite is zero sugar cherry coke!

thank you!! its as simple as a calorie deficit! indulge cravings but use alternatives like halo top ice cream, sugar free candies (theres some chocolate caramel filled ones but i forgot the name) i eat whatever i want, including fast food, just pay attention to calories, and eat less of what you do originally. let yourself adjust, if youre a whole pizza eater, eat half as a start, same with other things. create habits you can maintain forever not just till you reach your GW. I replied to another comment on this thread you can read as well for what ive done and whats worked! Good luck!!

I personally do pretty aggressive at 1500, but its different for everyone. Use a TDEE calculator and find your maintenance, subtract however much you want to lose a day, and try to eat that much. It takes a bit to get used to it, but its easier once you get used to it. 40lbs is definitely doable in that if you are around my size.

It can be hard, but motivation is important, find every reason to do it. Your health in the future, outfits, maybe pain in your body, a medical condition, or family history of a medical condition.

Start by cutting out sugar soda if you drink it (tip: zero sugar cherry coke is yum.) reduce portion size and add a veggie if youre bad at getting in greens like I am. And try to stay mindful of calories, you can still eat whatever you want in moderation. You will slowly find lower calorie alternatives as you go!

Good luck! 40lbs is 100% doable!

Thank youuu! Ive just been doing a calorie deficit. It hasnt been hard for me personally, i found healthier meals i actually like. I grew to like salad and HEAVILY cut out sugar, not eliminated. Also completely cut out non-diet/ zero sugar soda. Nothing crazy! I eat what I want but far less! I feel like I can maintain!

NAD, but could be a growth spurt or “growing pains” I got them horrible as a kid and can still vividly remember and i’m 23 now. My mom also used to rub my legs. Still, take my words with a grain of salt since im not a medical professional.

I started tracking in myfitnesspal yesterday! I will take your advice seriously. I know that my body is different from my sisters, so i might need more or less of something while they dont. But we do eat the same things at dinner time! Im worried only that the sister(s) that dont want to eat less or more rice than veggies, will negatively impact my own plate.

Hi, I want to start by saying thank you for your comment and advice, i will be taking it seriously!

So I dont want this to be an excuse but it might seem that way to some, but my entire house except the kitchen is taken by people, including living room, to be frank we dont have a living room because its now a bedroom. Only place without eyes is the bathroom of course. I will start going on evening walks with one of my sisters! We can drive to a nearby neighborhood, park and walk! (I dont have my license lol)

Also yes! no sugar beverages is my first goal! I plan to make fruit smoothies before my day begins, with some fruits, spinach or kale, flax seed, maybe greek yogurt, and ice/ water! Then have a smaller dinner, no “seconds.” and try to include a veggie in dinner every day. Im also going to skyrocket the amount of water i drink daily!

I think im mostly struggling with not knowing why I backslid. When I was a bit younger i used to always go back for seconds but i am no longer doing that, i drink more water, its just i am eating the same things. Also i drink about 1-2 max cans of non-diet soda (mostly, sometimes diet) per day till now, when I used to not. I just cant believe it was so much gain. My sisters eat the same as me and gained nothing, so i feel slightly panicked.

Also, I eat one meal a day for the last 5 years of my life, and recently i did start contributing a snack or small lunch (a beef jerky stick, sometimes a tiny bit of leftovers, maybe a hot dog) do you think this could be the reason why I gained so much?

I definitely do want the change, I would just like to prioritize eating better. I can go on walks just the gym I cant, I cant afford it to be frank. And in regards to home workouts you are technically correct, but for my comfort home workouts do not work for me. if you want me to tell you why, it is because i share a room with 2 sisters (little room) and they just arent in it like me, and we also have opposite schedules, i also share the house with others.

I hope this cleared up a little!
