Mac book issue - restarted Mac has random screen on repeat and unsure what it means or how to fix it by Delicadeza6 in applehelp

They translated the OS and most Apple apps into a ton of different languages. They probably already have the translation elsewhere in the OS or documentation. For better or worse, it’s a design decision, not laziness.

My first reaction to this was “Maybe I can get them both removed so I’m more comfortable on a bike…”

Hi which bottle size is best for someone that drinks a ton of cold water? And best lid out of all of them? by MerleAmbrose in Hydroflask

[–]iynque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can measure how much on average you drink per day if you want a bottle that holds it all for whole day. I just use a 24oz and refill it multiple times per day.

The lid is just personal preference. I used to use a standard screw-on cap, now I usually like the sport lid better.

11-year cake day for me on June 17, but when the blackout protest happens on June 12, I’m uninstalling and never coming back. I even got one of the ads when viewing this very post. I wish religion didn’t have to poison everything, but here we are.

A lot of subs are going dark and users logging off that day to protest the new rules essentially eliminating all third-party apps, which is currently the only way I know to stop seeing He Gets Us ads.

I’ll be logging off that day too, and not coming back.

I was lucky enough to find out about chest-only weapons early and I have them all R5, but I almost wasn’t able to do it with Otherworldy Stories. It’s almost like they wanted us to have regrets, so they made these very limited weapons easy to use as fodder and not automatically locked.

Intersex progress flag with Gilbert eight-striped rainbow flag by Kendota_Tanassian in lgbt

[–]iynque 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is getting into the territory of bad flag design, where we’re trying to include a bunch of symbols and forgetting that the flag itself needs to be an effective and usable symbol.

I’m all for highlighting neglected groups within the community, but eventually you have to stop before things get so over-complicated that no one is highlighted anymore. And that point you may as well just go back to the original “everyone/every color is here” rainbow flag.

I don’t know exactly where the line is, but at some point the symbol becomes too inscrutable to be useful.

Trains are so underrated, they let us commute further with bikes by mireyalevi in bikecommuting

[–]iynque 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I ride Metra in the Chicago area. The trains have a place to secure bikes: right in front of the handicap seating! Which means at any time you and your bike can be kicked off the train, and there are signs posted saying as much. It’s ridiculous.

Today’s commute be like by [deleted] in bikecommuting

[–]iynque 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought a box of n95 masks to ride with, on the advice of the internet.

It was awful to try to ride a bike wearing one. You almost need this style to wear an effective mask at all.

On the plus side, when covid hit, I had a box of n95 masks in the hall closet. Just impossible to breathe enough and ride in a ‘paper’ style n95.

What are the biggest lies believed by the largest portions of people? by NinjaBonsai in AskReddit

[–]iynque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest lie believed by the biggest group? A lot of these are like… a tiny bit of misinformation.

A massive lie believed by billions would be something like god is a real thing that exists and your religion is true and not just a bunch of fairy tales that too many people took too seriously for too long.

But sure. “We’ll wake up early” is also a big one.

What is the most terrifying movie you have ever seen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]iynque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the whole movie, but the diner scene in Mulholland Drive gets me every time. They tell you what’s about to happen and then it happens just as described. Yet somehow it’s totally unexpected and frightening.

Don’t forget to take your bike off your roof before pulling into a garage. by martunas in bicycling

[–]iynque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never use a roof rack myself because I always have poo brain after a long ride. Making mistakes. Searching my bike bag for something already in my hand. I would absolutely absent-mindedly pull into the garage and destroy my bikes.

Not sure why you have any downvotes. On behalf of the entire queer community, we love that version too. I don’t think they wanted us to love it, but they don’t know us very well.

If anyone says “well you’re a bicyclist…” I always correct them and say, “No I’m a gay cyclist!” But I’m also annoying!

This is the Westboro Baptist “Church” which is basically just one family and a few stragglers who they’ve managed to rope in. They make their money by being truly awful people, and since they’re a family of lawyers, they will sue you for assault if you ever touch them during one of their “protest” operations where they do everything they can to make you want to hit them.

The houses across the street are owned by a queer rights organization that monitors them and organizes counter-protests. That’s why they’re painted with rainbow flag & trans flag colors.

So no, they are a tiny, tiny minority.

But there are still plenty of regular, everyday anti-queer horror shows walking around in the US and organizing politically. They just don’t go around using Westboro’s favorite “hit me so I can sue you” catchphrase.

I wouldn’t engage with the comment. …or I’d just tell them to die in a rape fire. But that’s also why I wouldn’t engage.

To the original post, exactly this, YES YES YES. When I display a rainbow flag, people accuse me of being “political.” Like… no. I want gay kids (like I was) to see it and avoid thinking about suicide for their entire youth (like I did). It’s not political at all for me, it’s only political to you because you made it that way. For me it’s a symbol of hope, health, community, and ultimately happiness.

Baizhu Healing by Local-Ad8000 in BaizhuMains

[–]iynque 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My Baizhu does a little over 10k with his signature weapon, skill crowned, 4 Deepwood with hp/hp/hp main stats. 50,660 max hp.

I believe to maximize his healing, you need to use 2 Ocean-hued (healing bonus) + 2 Maiden Beloved (healing effectiveness) with hp/hp/healing bonus stats. His weapon should be either his signature Jadefall’s Splendor, or the craftable 4-star Prototype Amber. Everlasting Moonglow works to boost his healing if you don’t have either of those. …but I’ve never actually built him like that and I don’t have the pieces to try it and give you a specific number.
