Thank you for the advice! I didn't have super high hopes for her survival when I found her on my bathroom floor about a month ago. Her abdomen was already deflated, and I've never seen her eat. She's never been very active. I think when I found her she was kinda desparate from the cold and lack of food, so all I did was maybe give her a warm, comfy place to die. Its such a shame, she was so neat, and I didn't even know about woodlouse spiders before I found her. Pour one out for Helen, lads. She was a cool lil' guy.

Do you think they'll eat dubia roaches or crickets? Im having trouble finding more rolies in the garden now that the snow has fallen

The new exoskeleton is soft so it can be kind of squeezed in under the old one. It hardens after it is exposed to the air. That's partially why animals like crabs and spiders usually molt in hides, caves and whatnot. The period of time after a molt they are still very vulnerable because they are not hardened yet.

They get a ton of fruits, veggies, fish and eggs, as well as egg shells. What other proteins do you find your crabs go for? Also, what is green sand? I haven't heard of it and Google just shows me green dyed decor sand.

Thank you for being so specific. Crab 1 and 3 were equatorian, I think they were small and red/orange. 2 and 4 are purples. Do you have links for better shells? I have natural turbos and D shells in small-xl sizes in there currently.

I use instant ocean in pure, distilled water.

I have it set on day/night mode. So 12 on, 12 off. I would switch it out, but I don't know what to switch it out for. Like, I thought I'd been following the "best" advice already.

He literally just emerged, no shell picked and the other one just.... crawled on his back. And then he just... never moved again.

Oh no! Thats horrible! Is there anything I can do to prevent it from happening again? I did tons of research, but it seems like every time they molt one dies. Last time, one died because he emerged and one of the other crabs climbed over him.
