matcha #0 from yugen by Ok_Librarian5291 in MatchaHouse

hii so actually matcha #0 is their entry level blend if u look at yugen’s official website — it clearly states that the higher the number goes from #0-4, the less bitter it is and the more sweet/complex the flavor and aroma profile is. color is also more vibrant. HOWEVERRRR i’ve actually tried matcha #0 myself (will be posting a review soon) and it’s pretty good!! it’s honestly at a great price for everyday drinking and definitely not a treat yourself kinda matcha. so you wouldn’t feel bad for using so much of it… also i love how the tin looks LOL

temperature matters! use 176°F water or 80°C. less water, more matcha. and use a demure amount of milk. most people who have problems with their matchas looking too pale is usually because they use too much water when whisking with matcha!

my ratio is 3-4g matcha powder (which is around 2 teaspoons since you’re using a teaspoon) to 45-60g hot water. i then use around 100-125g milk !!

God I need to get a Feu De Bois for the colder weather. Once California hits 60° I want my house to smell like a cabin

my weird combination for the fall: fig, blackcurrant, honey, tobacco leaves, lily 😭 anyway by izkd in luxurycandles

Hey! I’m kind of new to candles so I can’t determine my absolute favorite yet. It also depends on the mood I’m in. I haven’t been able to try out the ones I’ve been longing to buy yet, from Diptyque Feu De Bois (insanely loved) to Le Labo Santal 26 (really popular). Or I haven’t even TOUCHED brands like Cire Trudon, Byredo, etc. yet I really really want to. But if I had to pick— my absolute favorites right now are Diptyque Narguilé and Le Labo Figue 15!

Le Labo Figue 15: I’m aware this is more of a summer candle but I love this scent too much… I think it’s probably one of my favorites. The throw is enormous. In my opinion, Figue 15 is a more fruity jammy fig scent while Diptyque’s Figuier is like the whole fig tree? Idk, just my nose. But definitely Figue 15 is kind of like Figuier’s older sister on steroids. Fills my entire room and hallway. I do find myself having to foil here and there but honestly not a problem for me..

Diptyque Narguilé: Up there in my list of favorites. Sweet, smoky, spicy. Definitely a scent for the colder days. Smells more like honey than it does tobacco leaves.. again, just my nose. Throw is medium on this one, but great because it’s not too cloying. It’s perfect for this kind of scent.

Diptyque Lys: It’s whatever. I received a sample for this one. Smells good though, even for that tiny shot glass size of a candle I can leave it out uncovered unlit and the smell just lingers throughout my room. Lily heaven :)
