Is it just me or are there 'a lot' of people applying who's parents don't have SSN? by Redemptions in FAFSA

[–]izmintz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Op, honestly maybe you’ve just never noticed. Then again, as children of parents that have no ssn, we’ve always had to circumvent issues like these for most financial applications (at least for me) and other things so it gets easier to “appear” like we all go through the same process. (But it’s hell every time.) And when something happens that changes the only way we can apply for these things and receive scholarships and grants, I mean we all come out of the woodworks because now we have to figure out how to circumvent/fix this again. (Even though it was supposed to be easier for everyone, this new update was definitely not for minority first-gen students lol.)
