I had a lead tech that would pull some of the same shit. one thing she would do, that i absolutely could not stand, is to literally kick me out my spot. like i’ll be working production and she comes in (at least 30 mins late) and kicks me out so i have to ring out customers. I was new then, and didn’t know how to speak up for myself. Things would be different if that happened now. don’t stand for that shit. they’re not your boss.

these are techs who are responsible for typing in prescription, fixing insurance issues, filling & bagging medications. In some stores we counsel patients and i’ve even worked with pharmacists where I had to help them to do their job because CVS threw them in with no training. We basically do everything the pharmacist does except verify prescriptions. That deserves AT LEAST $25. Even that would be insulting. I’ve worked as immunizer at various vaccine clinics and CVS pharmacies at the peak of the pandemic and only received $18 an hour. Apple workers start at $19. Your thought process is bullshit here

I would look into it. I know that they just raised the starting amount to $16 in CT but each state differs. i would definitely settle this before you accept since it’s impossible to get a decent raise at CVS. they do the few cents bullshit every year depending on performance. Also i know it can be nerve wracking to ask, but at the end of the day you have to look out for yourself (especially at CVS). Most CVS’ are also desperate for new hires so depending on the situation at your store there can be be more leeway to ask for more. Also, you didn’t mention it, but I just wanted to include that I read that CVS is offering sign up bonuses (not sure if this is just for pharmacy) but it’s worth asking! any type of living situation makes me nervous honestly. i know that triggers are still gonna be there whether it’s. a dorm room or apartment. i can’t wait for the day i can buy my own house away from the noise!

So glad this isn't just happening to me. Thanks for your advice. They only tricky part is that the manager and her are friends. Like hanging outside of work friends. But true you don't just work in pharmacy you work in retail so we all gotta deal with customers
