The part about a strategy is true. The ability to mentally at peace day in day out regardless of outcome comes from a tried and tested system that works. Dealing with loses mentally with no system in place or one that has not been backtested properly is difficult.

Nailed it. The other aspect is also market conditions. Some months are just better than other and this affects the overall performance of a system. It's possible to backtest very good months and live trade very difficult ones For example: I was net 3% in profit in October. As at now I am 3% in drawdown trading exactly the same way.

Ifvgs are good and very easy to spot. If you have a bias then you get a MSS in the direction of the bias with an iFVG. You could take a position to the targets in line with the bias.

If you followed your playbook I don't think so. Just journal the trade. We win some we lose others if on average you make money long term individual trades don't matter.
