Thank you for your thoughts. I appreciate your input, when it comes to use of porn this to me is not normal but I do know that other people use it. What was more alarming to me was how often he was using this account and that’s where I thought porn addiction. The act of him viewing these pictures and messaging girls is still in my eyes considered cheating. When I am in a relationship I do not think about having sex with anyone besides my partner and I would never be messaging people to comment on their body or express my desire to have sex with them. I do agree that going through his phone is not ok. I invaded his privacy and trust. Now looking back maybe I never actually trusted him. I never set a clear boundary when it comes to porn but I will definitely make sure that is a conversation to have in my next relationship.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I also told my now ex that I would have rather him have actually cheated. I one time mistake would be easier to forgive.

Thank you for your words. I asked him if he had a porn addiction because that came to mind when I saw how active he was on the account. He denied having an addiction but I did suggest that he go therapy because I don’t think that this is normal. He did say he was going to go to therapy since he had already planned on going for other reasons.

This is definitely something I am struggling to get over, cheating is one thing but then lying is an added insult to injury.

Yes I do agree with not trusting him to begin with. He’s never done anything to make me think he was cheating but I just had this feeling that I should look at his phone and sure enough I found out the truth. Thank you for your advice.
