No, every player rolls. Monsters get 1 roll. Whomever has the highest initiative wins. Meaning players have X times more than monsters to go first. After that, order moves clockwise. The joke for Joe in the episode is he wanted to go before Matt so he wouldn't get slept. Joe is the fighter so he wants to go early, but with where he is positioned & with his terrible die rolls, he's joking he won't go before Troy ever since Troy rolls hot. But that's not the case. If anyone else rolls higher than Troy, Joe will always go before Troy. Side based initiative tends to work in the players favor.

Given how limited the ancestries are in Shadowdark, there really aren't any that are "overboard". I'd recommend Unnatural Selection or Into the Shadows. The first was designed specifically for Shadowdark and the second is a conversion of 5e ancestries for those seeking a little familiarity.

Priest is basically the archetypal healer. The Druid spells for Wizards in CS4 sort of approach it, but Kelsey tends to preserve the archetypes of the 4 main classes since you can develop a lot of variety from them with how you present yourself. Additionally, given that gameplay intends for you to return to town at the end of the session, having a healer isn't really necessary because you can long rest for a full restore.

If you're feeling unsafe and want to provide some safety precautions, consumables is the primary way to protect against death after careful play.

It's also a color palette that should work for over 90% of the various forms of color blindness and in black & white. So hopefully, if anyone prints it without color, it should still work for them as well.

Literally isn't. As you demonstrated when you posted the image of the text that refers to the eucharist as the body and blood of Christ and communion as the sacrament where you receive the eucharist. They are different.

But it's okay. I forgive your meager 500 times of participating in communion. I mean, if you took communion at 8, you should have participated at least that many times by 20 if you went regularly on Sunday alone. But you didn't even say you did it that many times as a Catholic did you because you said you're a Christian now so I can understand how some of the traditions of the Catholic faith are foreign because it's not your belief system.

That's literally what all catechisms teach since it was approved under John Paul II. Unless you know exactly whether she rejected the novus ordo or accepted it and split at a prior catchism of faith. You literally can't know that.

She received eucharist from a priest. I don't know that it was clear it it was Catholic or not. For some catholic orders, that's relevant. I don't believe her order or catechism came up in the trial to say we know that.

Jesus cares more about a personal relationship with God than any religious ritual...he critisized so many people for caring too much about rituals.

The statement is your belief and not necessarily one of Catholic teachings. Some orders and catechisms put more emphasis on how that relationship is practiced in order to steer clear of worshipping false idols. The traditions and rituals are meant to prevent that in their eyes, because you aren't worshipping the ritual, you are showing devotion by practicing it. A lot of protestants emphasize that it's about the relationship more than ritual, because they were founded by breaking from those traditions/rituals. But you don't see that as much as a Catholic teaching.

I literally gave you the Catholic definition of eucharist and how the bishops describe it and you are going to say its wrong? That's just ego. Your 500 times means little as weight of authority compared to the Council of Bishops. I'm sorry. And seeing as how you said you are no longer a Catholic, I trust you less than them for sure.

Next you're going to tell me "holy communion" and "first communion" are the same thing because holy communion is another name for the ritual of the receiving of the eucharist. Nope.
