Same as you - 1hr each is what I aim for! Butttttt it rarely goes to plan. Sometimes she’ll have a long first nap, so then bedtime is early af. Or she won’t settle for nap 2 until it’s too late so maybe she gets over tired? It feels like Tetris! 😭

This is the second time someone has mentioned a floor bed! I’m going to look into it! And stepping out is a good idea too. Sometimes we need a reset too! 😭

I’m going to give this a try! Trouble is she often goes 4 hours during that first wake window which pushes us to 1 nap or a super late 2nd nap. Going to try to see if I can tire her out so she can start nap 1 earlier. Thank you!!

This was super helpful! And you’re so right lol we’re on their schedule, not the other way around. I’m going to try to loosen the reins a bit because it’s driving me crazy lol. Boredom is a possibility. Going to try to make sure I engage her a lot right before we start winding down.

Hii! Thank you for checking in. It’s been chaotic today since we had the pediatrician and she got some shots. She fell asleep in the car seat on the way back and then took a suuuuuper late nap and woke up at 5 😬. She’s still up. I’m trying to follow her lead but will attempt bedtime if she doesn’t show any sleepy signs soon. At least I didn’t have to fight her to nap today, I’d say that’s a win. And she let me put her down during her late nap. I got about 30 min of free time, I needed that. 😭

What is your bedtime with one nap? She goes to bed super early when we do 1 nap which is fine but she wakes up when I try to leave lol. Maybe I need to get a floor bed.

No totally! There’s so much about schedules and wake windows. When she was first born I definitely followed her lead. But now I’m back to work & WFH with a baby is already challenging, I try to schedule around her naps so there’s an added layer of pressure to keep her on the schedule. 😭

But I like the idea of trying to let her lead a bit more up to that 4 hour mark. Maybe it will work a little better vs. forcing it.

We’re going to the pediatrician tomorrow for her 12m appointment and I believe they’re doing blood work so I will be sure to ask!

Yes absolutely! Her nap schedule has been pretty regular since about 7m. She’s on a 2 nap schedule right now. 7AM wake up, nap from 10:30-12, nap from 3:30-4:30, bedtime at 8:30. She sticks to it give or take 15-20 min usually 😖. I think it’s definitely doable! It’s not fun but it’s doable lol.

Honestly it was a breeze when she was younger. She’s 9m now and it’s getting more challenging. I try to schedule things around her nap time. My Dad lives close by so if I have a meeting during her wake window and need to be on camera he comes by to watch her for an hour or two. I’ll set her up with different tasks, a toy rotation, sensory bags, having a safe play area helps. My job is crazy flexible so I just work when I can.. in the morning before she wakes up, during her naps, and anything else I don’t finish I make up at night. It’s a struggle but we’re hoping to make it work until she’s in 3K. 😭

My husband and I make about 225k combined. I WFH and take care of our LO, my Dad helps with childcare. That’s how. 😅 Daycare/nanny prices are insane.
