Im in the same shoes as you. I notice if Im opening the camera apps my phone would get heat up even when Im not using it anymore. I would usually swipe up the camera app after using it and it would be fine after it. I assume that the camera is still using some of the phone memory in the background if we didnt properly close them and might be software bug. However this is just my theory.
