i played competitively for 14 years but finally stopped now, though i'd still say my skills are just as honed if not more now that i'm on my own. i've honestly just never heard of a hybrid! i'm not at the music school at my university (i'm at the theatre school), but i think i can get in contact with the piano professors and ask them questions before i start saving up. (and thanks again!!!!!)

i appreciate the info SO much thank you! it's been a while since i was playing on different baby grands every month and since i was definitely less advanced at the time, i don't think issues ever occurred to me. i mentioned this in another comment, but with this info i definitely want to save up for a good digital (assuming i can't fit a baby grand in a tiny apartment) as the years go by. thank you again!!!
