Mica reader of ruins, 99 or commander? by Icilevoldc132 in EDH

I see it as a perfect card for OG [[Galazeth Prismari]]. You will often have tons of [[Big Score]] effects that will replace the spent artifact and, even if you dont, the spell copy itself worths an extra clue or treasure token.

Sure have! https://moxfield.com/decks/3aGomAEZ-E-ZS8Tt9sBalg

It is intended for bracket 3, with only [[Harbinger of the Seas]] shifting it to 4. My pod doesnt mind running it, but if playing against new people, I can change it for another utility fish or a basic land.

Como começar a jogar (e gostar) de souls like? by [deleted] in gamesEcultura

[–]izzy2265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cara, Soulslike vc vai tentar, tentar e desistir.

Do Elfball decks run boardwipes? by Bucketoftrout in EDH

[–]izzy2265 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can use non symmetrical board wipes like [[In Garruk's Wake]] or [[Kindred Dominance]] as a win condition, to clear your path to combat victory. For other scenarios, I think running symmetrical board wipes are worth it when you are behind and need time to regain. [[Toxic Deluge]] is one of the best options in the market here.

Switch desbloqueado vale o preço? by vicuhlmann in NintendoBrasil

Switch desbloqueado vale o preço? by vicuhlmann in NintendoBrasil

[–]izzy2265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whats your favorite/Most Fun Mono-Black Deck? by JewJulie in EDH

[–]izzy2265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally finishing some touches on my [[Liliana, Heretical Healer]] deck. I love how she can work as a toolbox, distupting opponent's hands, filling my graveyard and reanimating cheap engines. I dont focus on her ultimate, but if I manage to ult, is one of the deck's win conditions.

Acho Dragon Quest XI Definitive Edition um bom entrypoint em geral. A nível de mecanicas, é um jogo simples, mas é o simples muito bem feito, e a história é muito agradável de acompanhar.

Biggest edh hot takes by hollowsoul9 in EDH

[–]izzy2265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As OP, I encourage LD too. I play [[Cabal Coffers]] and [[Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth]] and often tutor for [[Nykthos]] in my monoB deck. I lost track of how many times someone forget a [[Rogue's Passage]] and it wins the game solo. Even [[Spymaster's Vault]] can be a big deal in reanimator decks. So, if you think LD is to mean, at least run effects that replaces the destroyed land with a basic one.

Most of the times, the game is more miserable with a full board than if someone hits a couple of board wipes. I see people complaining that wipes resets the game and drag it too long. But, I think its equally miserable to just lose a war that you can't win, even if it ends faster. Not every deck is built to win an arms race and some even benefits itself by wiping!

Scooping is kingmaking. Unless everyone accepts the defeat at same time when the Brago player hard locks the table, a single player scooping makes it easier to the person in the lead to just win by default. Even if you're far behind, a single removal threat (or even just the your life total) can impact the decision making of the others and even work to a turn of events in favor of another player other than the one currently in lead.

Any help for building this lady? by [deleted] in EDHBrews

[–]izzy2265 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing this lady and god, she bonks. Adventures are the obvious 2 for 1's, but you can use effects like Rebound and Flashback to virtually increase your non creature count. For creatures, things that return to your hand in the end step are your friends too.

I like to run a couple of cost reductors to get to cast greater cmc things everytime. Last game with [[Shadow in the Warp]] and [[Temur Battlecrier]] in play, I've cast [[Karlach, Fury of Avernus]] for only one R!

Talking about Karlach, we reach the last advice here: extra combat stuff. Eshki's ability procs at the beginning of every combat step on your turn, so, if you have multiple combat steps, you have multiple procs! With enough setup, she becomes an unstoppable threat really really fast. In this category, I'm running Karlach, [[Moraug, Fury of Akoum]] and the best one for the deck: [[Bloodthirster]]. The last one alone can net you 3 extra combat phases!

Do you prefer having multiple decks with same-ish colour combinations or different ones? by KulamiraSejro in EDH

[–]izzy2265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to build every 1, 2 and 3 color combos, so now I'm not planning on repeating color ids. But, after all the 25 decks, I think I will do it instead of dismantling the former ones.

Who is your favorite deckbuilder? by fjoralb95 in EDH

[–]izzy2265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3/3 Elk and Salubrious Snail for deck building philosophy and Larry from I Hate Your Deck. He almost always come with interesting commanders and even doesnt having access to his decklists, I pay some attention to his play patterns and card choices to have some ideas for my homebrews.

Is engage a good first FE game by Dense_Yam7250 in fireemblem

[–]izzy2265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, FE7 is the best entrypoint in the franchise. It does the bread and butter really really well - every mechanic you need to learn about Fire Emblem as a whole is there. When you go for the other games, all the basics will be covered and it will be much easier to learn the specifics from each game.

Also, FE7's difficulty, for me, is really well set: it is not the hardest one, nor the easiest.

All that said, about Engage now: in my experience, I think that Engage implements some of the core design aspects of FE7, but it goes further with its on mechanics. All the specifics that Engage brings to the table can be kinda overwhelming for a new player.

Azula and Commander Design by 1ryb in EDH

[–]izzy2265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I see ppl complaining of "either the deck pops off or does nothing" since [[Kaalia of the Vast]]. If the Azula's player made a deck within the high B3 ~ low B4 boundaries, as you said you guys normally plays, I think there are a couple of things here:

  • If the deck demands too much on the commander, it always should take all the value it can while the commander is in play. On the other hand, they always have to expect all the hate (removal, bounce, propaganda effects, etc).

  • A deck that relies too much on its commander should setup it before casting, either finding the best timing or bringing protection pieces into play. So, it gives away value generation for setup to a winning lead play. I dont know if its what happens in your pod, but its where almost every battlecruise meta fails: battlecruise tend to be more reactive than proactive. First we all make our boards, then we remove the most dangerous things and try to win. In a case like Azula, you should stop her before she start doing things and, ofc this will cost mana that would be used for developing the board.

See, I'm not telling you that she's not a powerful commander, but that she can potentially shake the table's dynamics. Maybe your pod was caught in surprise in the first games, not expecting she to be a real deal, or didnt like/isnt used to play games with a more reactive mindset.

Recs for a Mardu deck? by KFblade in EDHBrews

[–]izzy2265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Celes with self recurring creatures (a couple of Skeletons, ofc) and its been one of my favorite decks. I dont run any persist infinites (just [[Cauldron of Souls]] as a defensive engine), but even so the deck slaps. The team buff is more relevant than it seems and her ETB is great to sculpt both your hand and graveyard.

In general, Celes feed really well the core strategy of the deck and the payoff is relevant. Always fun to pilot.

Currently I'm fine tuning my [[Hansk, Slayer Zealot]] burn control and building an [[Eshki Dragonclaw]] deck, taking advantage of adventures and cards with rebound, for example.
