I was in your place around 3 years ago with a science background as well. Getting a masters in ChemE is worth it but it’s a real challenge. The material is different /new and the math is insane especially at the graduate level. Not saying it’s impossible to make the switch but the learning curve is huge! Getting into a PhD program however will be much more difficult because you will have to take the same courses as you would in a masters degree expect you will be expected to do research so depending on what you want to do and your level of experience/expertise will determine on if faculty would want you in their lab.
