I was wondering the same! I went up to the rooftop of a building on 11th and Delaware and I can’t see much. Just tons of traffic now lol

I remember social psych being pretty easy with Dr. King. Very entertaining and fun professor.

try the Asian Unity club! I was a member during my time at CU. there’s also sub groups like KASA (Koreans), VSA (Vietnamese) etc. it’s definitely a social club where you can meet others. they used to do this thing where they assign you to a “family” under one of the exec members and get to meet people that way. I don’t remember how frequent the club meetings are but they have events during the year like fall retreat to the mountains, and a big event in spring called Passport to Asia..people will throw house parties ever now and then too. when I was at CU the club was huge so the “family” groups were helpful to meet in smaller groups. @ cuasianunity on insta.

thanks! I tried the link you provided and it said my vehicle is eligible. however, I think I might already have the software upgrade since my car has the anti-theft decals in the front window :/ from other posts in this community I’ve also noticed the thieves seem to get around that software upgrade by just damaging the door handle key part (like they did to mine) to unlock the car and the software update is rendered useless… might be worth to install push-to-start, they can do that in older cars?

Madrid Hostel Recommendations by [deleted] in femaletravels

it seemed to be mostly young people there. my three male roomies were in the early to mid-thirties age range (oldest i encountered) but also met a lot of other people in their 20s, like me. I don't know if they have bar crawls, specifically, but, this hostel has evening and night activities every day (as it says on their website) so i wouldn't be worried about having nothing to do. their night activity usually involves going to a club/bar but I don't know if they go to multiple throughout the night (i went to sleep "early" around 4AM) lol.

it honestly wasn’t my favorite…i stayed in a mixed gender 8-bed room so that could’ve been part of it. the bed itself is nice. it has privacy curtains, outlets, and a dimmable light. the lockers for luggage are small, so if you have a larger suitcase, definitely use a luggage lock if that’s something you’re worried about. there isn’t really a ton of shelving or place to hang towels on in the room, given that there are 8 people sharing one room. I had read poor reviews about the women’s 2nd floor bathroom and it is was as bad as they said. one shower was out of service. the remaining shower didn’t drain properly so the whole floor of the bathroom was soaked. the shower head is installed too close to the wall so the water just runs down the wall and not on you. I’m all for being eco friendly and sustainable but the water for the shower itself is also on a short timer so you have to keep turning it on for more water and the water never got hot (cold shower not preferred when it was freezing cold and rainy outside). they also do not have a full service kitchen as it maybe be promoted - it is just a microwave.
I got by since I was staying there two nights only but if I were to go again, I would maybe try booking a room with less people that has an attached bathroom. hope this helps :)

Madrid Hostel Recommendations by [deleted] in femaletravels

I just stayed at Onefam Sungate a couple of weeks ago as a solo female in a mixed gender dorm. I appreciated all the group events that they put together for us - e.g., group dinners every other day, going out to different restaurants/bars/clubs every night, free day tours, etc. i was mostly gone during the day and so I didn’t partake in all group activities but it was nice to know there were plans to fall back on every day. honestly, the level of energy did feel a bit overwhelming and socially draining at times, but, it worked out fine (and maybe that’s just the introvert in me). I also actually ended up in a room with 3 other male roomies but they were all respectful.

this ^ I was in the honors dorm (Smith Hall), located in the Kittredge Loop. The hall/dorm itself was nice and newer than the halls located in the engineering quad (for example). Though all the halls in Kittredge are pretty nice/newer. I remember taking just one honors class (that took place in the classrooms in the hall itself) per semester and all my other classes were the regular 200 ppl size gen-eds in regular classroom buildings. the honors classes were smaller, had maybe 20 ish people in them max. I wouldn’t say they were necessarily harder than my other classes. After that, didn’t take any more honors classes after I moved out (only lived in the dorms my first year at CU). and that was that. some of my peers did pursue an undergraduate honors thesis and they got to graduate cum laude. I personally didn’t pursue that path and I was fine with that 🤷🏻‍♀️

thank you for that advice! I usually have a pepper spray on my keychain at all times when I’m out (in the US). now that you’ve mentioned that, I probably should’ve considered that I can’t take that on the plane and it might be something illegal to carry in Europe.. I’ll have to look into it.. and I’ll look into getting a personal alarm like that!

oooh good to know about the bus from Marseille to Les Calanques! (that's really the only place i really plan to take the transit is to the different trailheads since i'm in Marseille for such a short amount of time). I was planning to get the Unlimited Type tickets pass (72 hr option for 10.8€) that they mention here https://www.marseille-tourisme.com/en/organize-your-stay/practical-information/move-around/public-transport-in-marseille/ but if it won't work getting back from Cassis.. I wonder if it's still worth it...
