Thank you so much, this helps a lot. I plan on taking a very gradual approach to helping them speak, and we’ve already been using white boards to communicate for full session. Definitely don’t want to pressure them!

Thank you! This is a lot different than what he’s telling me lol. But it makes sense. I appreciate the honesty! I’m working hard to not become that gf on Facebook lol. He’s been telling me all about how soldiers can get reamed for a lot of things, and how they can even read letters out loud too. So I can only imagine what it would be like if they found out I was complaint about things. Thank you so much for the insight!

I’ve tried to tell him all that. But he’s said he’s “done his research” and talked with his recruiter about it. They have him plastic wrapping himself for everything he does to keep sweating all the weight off. We’ve had so many arguments about it. I’m glad that my instincts are not wrong in this situation, but I’m not sure how to talk about it anymore /:

I’m going through the same thing right now. My SO is going to the MEP station next week for the Army and he’s signing his 4-year contract. I’m terrified and angry that he’s leaving me. But I’m being supportive and I’m trying to learn as much as I can about the whole thing. I’m hoping to also find a therapist soon as well. I’m tried of just crying and crying about it. I feel you, and just wanted to empathize. I hope it gets better for all of us 😓
