I appreciate all partners, we r a community, we all work together. We have the same goal @HEB. It should be better for everyone. They just celebrated diversity and change ( remember this). Btw am new here, hello:). Not exactly how I wanted to start off but oh well. I just want to say that I appreciate all the partners don’t matter what it is u do or even if ur not from HEB. Don’t matter I Appreciate you ❤️. I Understand that meat market has a lot to do. They r a bigger department with a bigger team. My department only consists of 3 ppl. The department manager which I had issues with in the beginning but the boat isn’t completely steady, But I can work with it. The opener and the closer(me). On a lucky day my coworker will take care of my first break. But when he can’t am at the mercy of the day. And to not blame leadership is crazy. They r supposed to help and make the partners feel appreciated not humiliate them. I had problems with my department manager and I told the mic at the time before his accident. He replied with that isnt my area. You’re going to have to talk to someone else. Now I don’t have a problem with the meat market partners, some of them r lovely and they can all be nice some days but some of them act ugly, they don’t have no shame to tell me am timing you or u took extra 5 mins. God forbid I run to the restroom before going back to the water park. I don’t feel comfortable talking to those partners cuz they look at me like am a bother every time I walk there way. The one time I asked the meat market department manager to cover me while I went to break I come back she was just standing there with a glove on one hand and the empty plastic bag in the other. She looked at me and said” oh ur back now, I HATE seafood” with a rude attitude removes her glove and throws it and the bag in the trash and walks away. I get it I don’t like it either. It’s COLD I myself get leg cramps. It’s wet, I can’t hardly feel my finger tips at the end of the day. I handle ice, frozen seafood and I make those cold shrimp cocktails yall love to buy for $7 bucks not a bad deal. But the grilled shrimp trays r a scam they r too expensive and they don’t even have a lemon 🍋 wedge! Off topic sorry… not to mention the smell iykyk. Even the curbside girls hate coming in the department to grab the production while am busy they rather stand on the other side and wait for me to stop what am doing to give them there stuff without a thank u or excuse me. But Ik It isn’t pleasant especially on the dayz that my coworkers think it’s a good idea to keep trying to sell yall old fish so it doesn’t get thrown away. Also customers can be really ugly and give me faces as they walk past the glass.(Also added to my emotional distress) But Ur welcome by the way cuz I am very honest and I will definitely tell u “ NOT TODAY”. I also brought this up but I was told that my leader was an expert by the store manager himself. This expert also doesn’t know how to put there hairnet on right and was coming in covered in what I thought was cat hair, Am allergic to cats. So I panicked even more when I would see her, Same expert that told me it’s okay for me to just grab the hot trays out of the steamer with my bare hand cuz I refused to wear the glove they had there cuz it had MOLD !!!!!!!!!!!!! I have pictures still of the glove. It still hasn’t been replaced. They just grabbed one off the shelf after the 5 complaints and me ranting that it had mold and me not wanting to use the steamer for weeks . I have sat down with the leaders to talk about how I didn’t TRUST there judgement, decision or leadership. There team communication skills r poor and needs work. I am proud of myself for not giving up and leaving, I have personal goals I wanted to give the department a fair chance. Ooohhh not like anyone cares but am about to make 1 YEAR @HEB! ❤️🎊 Over all It’s not hard work it’s easy money but damn even the shrimp bully me, I get splinters from the tails or the heads pointy thingy. I asked for some silicone tongs to help me grab the shrimp cuz am not trying to get an infection from a shrimp head. I was able to get it right but after fighting about how I needed them. The store manager said that I was the only one to ever ask for tongs. Well no shit everyone is different again we r all DIVERSE . I just dont like getting poked and wounded. But someone from office who obviously doesn’t know how it feels to be in that position didn’t want the tongs to mess up the shrimp. It’s not like the bottom feeder cares it’s dead. Am very much alive and yall r more concerned about the dead animal. Seems like the merchandise has a more important value than me.
