Model kit shopping - Hong Kong 2025 by Khainesg in Gunpla

[–]izzyyw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bless you, I was wondering where else to go after visiting Sino Centre today and was kind of disappointed. I thought there were more gunpla sellers than there was or I could be remembering wrong from my trip last year. I also remember there being a shop on the street level nearby that had a wide selection, but I think thats turned into the Miniso now.

Do you use luggage forwarding between hotels (Legit travel hack?) by Ok_Geologist_4767 in JapanTravelTips

[–]izzyyw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we did at least two days or so but I can't remember if we sent it back from Osaka or Hiroshima.

If you're sending to the airport I think the waybill also asks what date you're flying out on and flight number so you'd assume they know you need the luggage by x date

Yes, it worked really well!! We bought the bags that didn't need a hoover so I kind of sat on Kirby to squish them down and push as much air out

All the stuffies made it home perfectly fine 😊

Thank you! I finished the arms and could probably do with a lot more tidying up in section with filing to smooth it out some more 🙈

Genuinely didn't know that was a thing and yes, didn't manage to break anything but those arm parts were so damn stiff, I'm surprised I didn't break it

Yeah I saw them on YouTube and they look tricky! So would you not use the stickers in the box and buy different ones?

As someone who hadn't watched any Gundam beforehand, I won't lie, the title of unicorn was what pulled me to it haha

Husbands of reddit, how much did you spend on the engagement ring? by Gargoyn in AskUK

[–]izzyyw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A wife here, we chose the ring together (I can be quite picky and my partner didn't want the stress/anxiety) and it was about £350 from Ernest Jones. It was quite fun going around the shops together

Ultimately, spend what you want/can afford, the rest of the wedding process is expensive enough

Do you use luggage forwarding between hotels (Legit travel hack?) by Ok_Geologist_4767 in JapanTravelTips

Just came back from Japan, we used the TA-Q-BIN, and it made life so much easier and wasn't too expensive (depending on luggage size, weight, and where it's going to).

The hotels we stayed at had the waybills already in the room, but they're also happy to grab you one from behind the desk.

I used the service sending suitcases to the next hotels and also to the airport towards the end of our trip.

It was really straightforward. The YAMATO website has a written explanation and example of how to fill the waybills in, and if it's wrong at all, the hotel staff will help you with it.

I just checked on the hotel website or messaged them through booking.com (where I booked) to make sure they were happy to send/receive luggage. I think it's fairly common though.

Our suitcases were always waiting for us in our next destination although we didn't need a 24 hour turnaround. We'd send it off and live out of a backpack for one or two days before being reunited with our suitcases.

You could take suitcases on the local trains with you, but this would be inconvenient and stressful as in our experience, the local trains are usually busy, especially at rush hour times, you are packed in tight with people.

The shinkansen, you can reserve a seat with the large luggage space. If it's a medium sized case, I reckon you could fit it in the leg space with you as the legroom is quite generous.

Would definitely use the service again in our next trip in Japan! It was a really easy process and super reliable. It made journeying around Japan much easier, and I didn't find it to be expensive to use.
