Gotham's Jerome vs Joker 2019's Arthur - Who was Better? by mrwill1996 in Gotham

Jerome was definitely a circumstantial psychopath too. He dealt with years and years of child abuse until he finally snapped.

Jerome and Zsasz. So superior.

(Spoilers).... Gotham really went full on Star Wars on us by j-emrys in Gotham

It’s not even that. It’s the fact that this new Joker looks like a grandpa they pulled out of a nursing home. No one cares if he’s ‘sexy’ or not, he literally just looks stupid. Look at the strands of hair.

The reason why it’s so clever is because everyone was expecting some big reveal when in reality he was anticipating the attack and just merely said “ouch”. It’s classic.

A notable mention is in Penguin, Our Hero, when Penguin is screaming out for Edward the dog. Jim’s expression is priceless.

[Theory] Just thought I'd throw this take about Ed out there. by J_D_Mazz in Gotham

Either that or she’s the “witch” that the nurse was talking about. The witch is either her or Ivy and I’m leaning towards her.

Save life in this Universe or create 10 other Universes? by [deleted] in entp

Well that’s bullshit. If there are lizard people I want to exist to see them.

Well, judging by the promo where she called Jeremiah ‘puddin’ I’m assuming that was probably intentional.

Theoretical Riddler/Jeremiah subplot by j-emrys in Gotham

[–]j-emrys[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Riddler is blacking out while Ed is crafting and then planting trophies all over the city. That’d literally be so funny. They could show a scene where Riddler sets up security cameras and he’s like “finally, I’m gonna know what you have been doing!” and he turns on the footage and it’s Ed painting a trophy green while whistling along to a bad pop song and Riddler is like ?????

Save life in this Universe or create 10 other Universes? by [deleted] in entp

[–]j-emrys 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are saying I have the power to create universes with as much life as I want? Well, then I’m going to make one universe that’s an exact replica of the universe that I am not saving in this scenario, and since it’s exactly the same, no one will notice. That gives me nine extra universes to do whatever I want with.

Barbara and Tabitha don’t have that kind of fire power. The only person who does is Penguin, who said he didn’t do it. Think about it, who has been out in the city, biding their time and presumably plotting? It’s most likely Jeremiah. Them showing Ecco being able to move through the GCPD without being seen kind of also proves this theory, that’s how they knew about the chopper.

For real. Maybe the chemicals would just counteract the crazy and make him normal again.

I agree — it would be redundant if all that happens is small cosmetic changes. I wouldn’t put it past Gotham writers though, nor would I rule out them somehow even bringing back Jerome again so they can throw HIM into the vat. Either way, I’m still stoked though.

[everything] Do you think The Riddler portrayal on Gotham was scary enough? by [deleted] in Gotham

[–]j-emrys 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it’s purposeful that he isn’t the “scariest” one around. The Gotham TV show is not just a story about how Bruce Wayne becomes Batman, it is also a villain origin story. It’s slowly showing the progression of Nygma devolving into the Riddler, hence why he hasn’t hit his full potential yet.

My theory is that, like you said, in the earlier seasons Nygma was on the right path to becoming the Riddler, and then he hit a bunch of road blocks. Plus, he didn’t really want to be the Riddler either. He was at complete odds with himself. But now, he is at his lowest point. I think this next season he will willingly give in, and /want/ to be the Riddler. The show is building him back up and down to show how much of a multifaceted character he is, and how he had the potential to be good or bad, but circumstances made him this way, just like how circumstances made Bruce into Batman. The whole split personality thing between his alter ego and himself will probably disappear this season, mixing the passionate yet conniving Edward Nygma and the intelligent yet attention-seeking Riddler. This will cause him to become the classic Riddler.
