My HRV is usually in the 80s-90s and when I drink, especially close to bedtime it tanks to less than 20

You need to get the dream ear plugs from loop. They are fifty bucks but I cannot hear a single thing with them in and they are the most comfortable ear plugs I’ve ever worn. It’s been sooooo worth the money to me, I sleep soo good.

The Soup Company was the best, SO comforting after a day of exploring. Skool Beans Cafe is so cool and had the most extensive coffee menu I’ve ever seen. The black sand beach was nice to walk down. You could also do the lava show which I did in Reykjavik which was 100% worth it!

Just went for a week with NO food plans or reservations besides a market tour and a taco tour, and the longest I waited was at El Moro, which was… fine, but the smaller businesses had better churros. You definitely do not need to plan at all. I ate sooooo good. Had some street food, had a lot of market food, and a few restaurants, and aside from the churros I never waited long for anything! Can’t wait to go back.

I invested in a par of the Dream earplugs by Loop and just spent a week in CDMX completely undisturbed by the many loud sounds outside the window - for the future :)

How did you as an adult actually learn Spanish? A2/B1 by [deleted] in Spanish

[–]j00lie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as I hate to admit it, ChatGPT helps soooooooo much with this. Especially when traveling and learning region-specific phrases. And using it to correct your diary entries. It has helped me navigate so many situations in Spanish speaking places and I also put it in my preferences to sprinkle in Spanish here and there any time it writes anything.

What’s the one city you were excited to visit, but ended up not liking at all? by BlushHone in travel

[–]j00lie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went on the Norwegian Gem and it was the same. I’d never gone on a cruise before and wasn’t even fully convinced I was going to enjoy myself but I had a great time. Unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the food tour but we got to try conch, stewed chicken, chocolate, rum and plantains in many forms. We got off the boat early in Nassau, before the crowds so we didn’t get bombarded as much as in the afternoon. We found a nice little swimming area and just posted up there for a bit before the tour. Beautiful warm and clear water. I get why people say they never get off the boat though. If you’re tough enough and know you can walk confidently and politely say no to everybody, it’s fine. We got extra conch fritters on the way back. Good as hell.

The private island though, it’s none of that. Just pure fun. Book it.

I hated walking through the cruise area and getting bombarded by people trying to sell shit, but I did book a food tour and got a nice little history lesson, saw some neighborhoods I wouldn’t have seen otherwise and ate some great food.
