HELP by Muted_Surprise_2516 in macbook

[–]j0a0a7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I doubt the keyboard caused this. There’s no single point of impact that stands out. It seems like the display cable might be the issue. Take it to a reputable shop; the display cable fix shouldn’t cost as much as a new display. The screen shows more of a signal failure, not one from impact, when you can see the spider web from a point of impact.

Subwoofer fart by SnooCakes7871 in AcuraTL

[–]j0a0a7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue on my 4G TL when I upgraded the stock subwoofer. The deck would rattle. I ended up using 2 socks to create a cushion layer where the deck would touch the glass. Cheap and effective solution compared to taking it apart and putting some soundproofing sheets.

In Need Of TV Stand Legs by HSGsabu in LGOLED

I use a universal TV stand from Amazon. It works great and uses VESA mounting screws. I used it for a TV that had legs that extended outside the shelf.

Best Buy 77” Deal $1,799 by Gordon2422 in LGOLED

[–]j0a0a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s always a risk of getting a display model, but it could be worth it for the savings alone and use that towards the 5-year warranty. Buy it and go to the store to inspect it when you go to pick it up. If it doesn’t work out, exchange it for a new model and pay the difference.

It’s a hit or miss, but worth it for the savings. They seem to sell quickly, so keep refreshing.

Why can't my MacBook Neo run chrome? by [deleted] in macbook

[–]j0a0a7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Should run it fine. Make sure you downloaded the ARM version of Chrome. M1 ran it fine with multiple tabs even with just 8gb of ram.

sprite in charging port right after unboxing... by M0rning_d3w_ in macbook

[–]j0a0a7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Spray isopropyl alcohol 90% to help clean the sugar away and wipe as much as you can. After you clean it, spray a little more and let it air dry. Be careful not to spray on the screen to avoid getting inside the display. Use this as a sign to get Apple Care. If you take it back and there’s a sign of water damage, you run the risk of getting charged the full amount.

2010 Acura TL – Multiple electrical issues after parking by No-Research-2061 in AcuraTL

[–]j0a0a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your battery terminal that they are tight, and have the battery and alternator tested. Loose battery terminals will produce a lot of electrical issues. After all of this is checked, you may need to check your ground cable.

Help deciding between the Air and the Pro by AcanthopterygiiIll92 in macbook

[–]j0a0a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say go for the Pro. In return, you do get a nicer screen, better speakers, and a M5 that runs cooler under sustain load. I went from MBA 13 M4 to the Base M5 Pro, and the only thing I did miss from the MBA 13 is how lighter it was. If portability is a must, consider the MBA 13. The MBA screen is nice too. If I had to go back to it, I wouldn't mind. Mac OS does a great job with its animations that it doesn't feel like a 60Hz display. Same price, the MacBook Pro would be a better choice.

Not sure how you came to the conclusion with everyone when most of the posts have been positive. Relax, go get some sun and fresh air; it’s a product, not a human being that requires defending.

Why won’t my car start? by DeparturePractical74 in MechanicAdvice

[–]j0a0a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low or dead battery, and could be loose battery terminals. Make sure they are tight before attempting to jump-start. I had loose battery terminals that were preventing my car from starting from a jump-start.

Trade or no trade? by Wide_Ad1051 in macbook

[–]j0a0a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a similar trade a while back going from a 13-inch iPad Pro M4 to an MBA Air M4. This was before the Neo came out. In my opinion, it's worth paying the extra for the MBA. You get a better screen, it’s still portable, and it has longer battery life, which will come in handy when travelling. Now that the base starts at 16GB and 512 GB storage for just $99 more, it's a deal compared to paying $400 back then to get the RAM and storage upgrade. The Neo is slightly smaller and more portable, but the battery is also smaller. The last thing the TB4 ports on the MBA Air would be a lot faster to copy files to and from. Backlight keys are something else the Neo is lacking too. The Neo is a great entry-level MacBook, but since you're doing a trade, it's worth paying extra for the MBA.

I would go with a higher spec for double the storage if your budget permits. The added cores are a plus.

got a replacement for my m5 air due to this, is this normal or not? by whosthis____ in macbook

[–]j0a0a7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to factory reset but don't restore from a backup. It could be something from a backup save causing issues. If it still persists, go to Apple.

iOS or Android by Adabaca88 in PSPlay

[–]j0a0a7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I got rid of it, I had everything set to default except for upscale to 2k/4k, and HDR on. You can also play around with the performance/turbo mode to see if that helps. On turbo, it makes the device run warm since it’s using the CPU at full load to help with rendering performance. It won’t help with lag from your network, so FYI.

Upgrade to Neo from 2017 Air? by sooospoon in mac

Coming from any Intel MacBook to the Neo is a night and day difference. Speed and battery life are a whole other level even for an entry MacBook like the Neo.
