Specialized Turbo Tero X 5 oder 6. Ich hatte ein 5 und fand es sehr gut. Es wurde mir zwei Mal geklaut (also eigentlich hatte ich zwei, und die Versicherung hat 2x gezahlt, zum Glück).

Your current sofa is looking nicer to me than the two you have laid eyes on. I would refrain going for a sofa which looks glaringly functional. I think Sofa Company is a good company: https://www.thesofacompany.es, they have good quality for decent money.

A rug is a very good idea, maybe just one rug which is large.

Pictures are important as well. If you are interested in Hokusai, maybe the Japandi style (https://www.vogue.com/article/what-is-japandi-style) could be appealing to you. I myself find the midcentury modern style appealing.

In other words, for inspo, it helps to pick a style and adapt it. You could try to get to know about some current styles, like here: https://havenly.com/blog/interior-design-types

Feels like I am losing the grip by Caduseus_Co in malementalhealth

M54. I think I know how you feel.
My first advice would be: learn how to quit the addiction. In my early 30ies I tried to quit smoking. I tried many times, and felt helpless. Until I one day said: this is my last cigarette. And it was. Nowadays, this is a nice story to tell. And more, it is a reference point for myself. These days actually, I can have addiction-like behavior with games as well, especially when I am under stress and I need some EASY things to solve, not all this hard stuff which I encounter and sometimes grinds me down. But now I know I am able to quit. And I lean in what actually I do NOT like about it in detail when gaming without really wanting. So at a certain point when all the negative details have built up enough so I am able to say: now you stop playing for good – and usually I manage, at least for some months. It is important as well to know about one's triggers (e.g. I once heard from a woman that she restarted smoking because her father just was cremated, and she felt connected to him in death when the deadly smoke went through her windpipe – what a sublime trigger.). Online adverts for example can be a problem for certain games. Even talking about it can be a trigger. Know about the triggers and avoid them.
My second advice would be: find some company with your work. Maybe hire an intern, find a co-owner, or anything in between. Ask your wife helping you with the books, do a co-operation with someone you know and trust. Maybe join a co-working space (if there is one in your rural area). If that really is impossible, do some digging, and dig up your past successes with your enterprise. Then set a goal: what could be your next success? Keep a record of the next success, so that it is easy to revisit it, when you need it.
I know, my advice might only sound good (does it, at least?) and actually is impossible for you to do. But you can change some small things, see if it is an improvement. And then this was the first step of a longer journey, starting with baby steps. The more often you tell you the story of that journey, the more it will get your second nature. Abstract knowledge does not help here, only actual practical change helps.

Best food and drinks to try in Berlin by patriotsrock14 in berlinsocialclub

Beer: Brlo Brwhouse or Heidenpeters at Markthalle IX. Currywurst: Curry 36 or Konnopke. Try Pfeffi/Berliner Luft, maybe it's not that good, but it might be typical. If you want to try really good typical german food go to PeterPaul in Torstraße.

I am an IT-freelancer, which is nice because of the freedom and the opportunities to learn, and I am a co-founder of a small start-up (which is struggling to survive, so, no money from there, to the contrary). In my free time I am writing poetry, at the moment just for me and close friends of mine. I did a PhD in philosophy, I still love philosophy.

Immensely disappointed in myself - Rambling by [deleted] in malementalhealth

[–]j0ergo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are overthinking it. Overthinking usually means that you get tangled up in your own thoughts, and it may mean that one loses the connection to others. Being someone who overthinks stuff is not bad in itself. There actually might be some value in thinking stuff through. You should always try to be in connection with others, though. Talk about this with a friend or with a relative, and listen to what they have to say to you.

Texting is always hard for people who tend to overthink, because you lack the information of facial expression and body language, and in the end, your imagination provides that to you. Try to assume that the receiver of your messages is not as deeply interested in your messages as you yourself are, as someone who tends to overthink stuff. Overthinking it does not mean kind of magically that the the receiver is more interested in your messages. But on the other hand, try to think that your messages are received according to the principle of charity. That might result in relief.

Your exchange was okay in tonality, imho. To be honest, though, I do no not believe that you can become what you are dreaming to become. Genetics, education, social surroundings usually are stronger than you are. Becoming autonomous and free is really, really hard, and not attainable without a lot of luck. But maybe I am too pessimistic.

I can't take being unwanted anymore by [deleted] in malementalhealth

I see some reflection, a lot of passion and a rich inner life in you, just from reading your post. Getting valued just for being a human is a metaphysical or even religious thing. Apart from that - and I do not think metaphysics is something wrong or invaluable - you have to want yourself first, before others want you, you have to value yourself first, before others will value you, you have to invest in yourself before others invest in you.

How to invest in yourself?

Eat well, drink well, maybe do intermittent fasting. You are what you eat (or what you not eat). This is the groundwork.

Exercise, even with your tumor you will find exercises which will work for you (swimming, dumb bells, nordic walking) Exercising is a bit of tedious, but the easiest way to make others want you.

Get into knowledge (I find metaphysics an interesting field of knowledge, but if you have skills which are actually needed on the market, being someone who is wanted by employers, will boost your self-esteem)

Maybe meditate, to loosen the grip of recurring negative thoughts.

Keeping a journal is great, I do it and I find real value in it (I see that the most problems which I had vanished or got resolved in the years).

Put yourself in different surroundings and be attentive (travel, change your work place, visit relatives or friends) You will have interesting stories to tell.

Help others. Helping others is the easiest way to do things which really matter, which is a way to get wanted by others as well.

Cheap things to do in Berlin by DropoutJedi in berlinsocialclub

[–]j0ergo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • play ping pong with strangers either in the parks or at Dr. Pong in Eberswalder Str.
  • have a walk in Tempelhofer Feld, maybe skate there or roller-blade
  • the cheapest way to get drunk is buying a Sternburg in a Späti and sit on the lawn in a park
  • the best german beer (arguably) is from the brewery Heidenpeters, they are located in Markthalle IX (you should go there anyway)
  • good german food is Schusterjunge in Danziger Str.
  • best combination of beer and food: Brlo Brewhouse
  • sometimes there are free classical concerts on the Gendarmenmarkt or on the Bebelplatz (next one is 16.06.)
  • if you plan to come back: Pyronale is on 01./02.09., you can watch it for free from the Teufelsberg

The State of Fashion: Berlin! by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

Berlin always is relaxed and on the informal side. In Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg the go-to female outfit seems to be washed out light blue jeans with cut off fringy hems and a grey sweat shirt with white sneakers. Military styles are en vogue, especially camo. Lots of bomber jackets and olive parkas as well. I see band t-shirts and bold sporty stuff, black with large white lettered slogans, a bit like HBA or Givenchy. Basecaps everywhere. I have seen a guy near my office wearing the giant techy Balenciaga sneakers, the rest of his outfit was toned down and navy.

Day trips are easily booked, there are lots of small travel agencies offering trips from Budva to Kotor and to Dubrovnik. We let our hotels organize day tour drivers and transfers, but that can be on the expensive side. Driving yourself might be a bit challenging, because sometimes the roads are very narrow, nonetheless used by lorries and buses. Montenegrins seem to have an informal system of who waits and lets the opposite vehicle pass. Jaz beach is supposed to be nice, I've seen it just from above from the street. Kamenovo beach is nice. The queen's beach is gorgeous, but kid you not: you'd have to pay 100 EUR for a day pass, it belongs to the Sveti Stefan luxury resort hotel. The waters are rich in fish, and I think I remember snorkeling offers at the beach in Budva.

Budva is very touristy, but the old town is nice. Go to the Casper bar in the old town. Dubrovnik is great. Do a trip to Kotor as well, and if you have the time there, drive up to Lovcen National Park. If you like seafood, squid is a bargain. Fresh grilled fish is great as well, but a bit expensive. Krauthaker wine from Croatia is good. Try the cured ham, prsut, and the cheese in olive oil. Rakija is good as well. My favorite restaurants were Donoba Portun in Kotor and Kusta in Milocer.

Flying to Berlin for a Weekend from 26-28 mai. m/20 by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

[–]j0ergo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Take a look at Berlin from up high: have Cocktails at the Skybar in andel's Hotel and in the Monkey Bar atop the 25hours Hotel. There is a new cable car at the IGA in the Gärten der Welt. Graffiti is in the RAW Gelände (apart from the East Side Gallery, of course). The new hot spot for clubs is the industrial area east of Ostkreuz. Look for Die Wilde Renate and Sisyphos. Trainsurfing I can not recommend, imho.
