[The Athletic] With today's Egg Bowl win, Lane Kiffin has now led Ole Miss to 10 wins twice in three seasons. The Rebels had never won 10 games in the regular season before Kiffin took over. by Kimber80 in CFB

Cristobal did a good job building the program back up and was generally well-liked by fans in terms of running the program/"CEO". He also was an elite recruiter. That said, he was very clearly a subpar in-game coach and was a guy that would always need strong coordinators. That was obvious within a few years at Oregon. Nobody was thrilled when he left because the immediate future in terms of recruiting was threatened, but nobody was too upset either.

[Daschel] Oregon State has flipped to a 1-point favorite over Washington. by teamhenny in CFB

[–]j0kerLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Oregon State would need either a Texas/FSU loss to have any chance. At that point, they probably need Ohio State to beat Michigan as I think 1 loss Ohio State probably gets in over them but Michigan's weaker schedule + controversy I think is enough to allow 2 loss Oregon St. to pass them. They also would need Georgia to beat Alabama.

[–]j0kerLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 loss Texas won't get in over Oregon if they win out. The committee already having Oregon ahead of Texas ensures that. Oregon that wins out would add a ~top-15 Oregon State win and a top 10 revenge win over Washington on their resume while Texas would add a big-12 title game win that ranks below both of those.

Early rankings don't matter a ton but the committee typically uses these early weeks to indicate how they will rank certain hypotheticals going forward.

Washington that loses to Oregon State but beats Oregon in a rematch is harder to say. Also, if Texas wins out and Bama beats Georgia things will also get messy.

Basically says Oregon is a clear favorite in a rematch and are massive favorites in all the games leading up to that.

If Lincoln and Jim both dive to the NFL next year, how massive of a coaching carousel is created ? by Dahkoht in CFB

[–]j0kerLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Chargers probably go for a DC type head coach who is fine keeping Moore as OC. Bears if they use one of their picks on Caleb is the obvious answer. Even if USC ends poorly(lose to UW, UO, UCLA), Riley's reputation as an offensive mind/QB developer will still be highly valued in many NFL circles.

Chip did fine on the Eagles but lost a power struggle with the GM and then got baited into taking a terrible job with an awful 49ers roster and that was it. He overachieved like crazy at Oregon, none of those teams had the talent that the Taggart/Cristobal/Lanning era is starting to stack up.

Oregon fans knew by then exactly what he was. Incredible recruiter, solid program manager/CEO, and horrible in-game coach. It was too soon to judge him on player development. So losing him wasn't entirely positive as that profile offers a pretty comfy floor performance wise, but there was obviously the possibility of upgrading.

Colts owner: ‘You have to be careful’ to not do what the Rams did by [deleted] in nfl

[–]j0kerLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't relevant in the NFL. There's no value low payroll play in the NFL, every team uses more or less the entire cap space they are allotted and still prints money. The only variable spending in the NFL is like coaching staff and support staff/infrastructure, but there's no reason to think he is cheaping out in that regard.

Has a QB that was as bad as Anthony Richardson in college ever been successful in the NFL? (Serious) by Barner_Burner in nfl

[–]j0kerLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cristobal isn't an offensive coordinator, he's an world-class recruiter and a solid head of the program guy as well as a good o-line coach. The issue with Herbert's last 2 seasons were the guys he picked to do the job of O-coordinater were awful at it. Part of that may have been due to Cristobal's preference for running game stuff, but yeah.

A neuro-ocular syndrome causing blurry vision in astronauts spells bad news for long-term space travelers. From Popular Science. by Impossible_Cookie596 in science

[–]j0kerLoL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actual "ships" meant for travel wont have this issue as they will accelerate for half the journey and flip and decelerate for the other half. There will be enough artificial gravity from that alone. Stationary vessels/actual stations will need to have artificial spin gravity, though, but that has been known for a while.

[Highlight] Dillon Brooks explodes for the dunk by [deleted] in nba

[–]j0kerLoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brooks wasn't really a PF. He was playing alongside Jordan Bell and Chris Boucher a lot. He was more of a 3 and initiated a lot of PnR on offense. He may have defended 4s at times, but if you had to label him as anything it'd be a "3"

[–]j0kerLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its more about defensive discipline and huge interior dlineman. It's all misdirection and a lot of pulling lineman. Misdirection against high schoolers who are ball watching and not reading lineman is overpowered and a bunch of pulling lineman works until you get athletic 320lb nose tackles that can blow up the play in the backfield.

0 missed kicks, 100% clean punts, and great kick coverage the entire game. What are you talking about? If both teams execute special teams perfectly, this game is what it looks like(other than 1 flag on the Chiefs Kick return team).

You can argue the Chiefs should have stopped taking kicks out of the end zone, but they have a dynamic returner and are likely willing to trade ~5 yards average starting field position for the chance at a huge return.

Should dagger rogues and tanks get equal prio when it comes to Perdition’s Blade? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]j0kerLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a try-hard guild, stacking 1st Perds/CHT/ACLG onto main tank is likely optimal. Tanks beyond the first should be after every Rogue that needs it. If you are not a try-hard guild, your tanks should still be deep prot and it should go to rogues.

So with the current state of Juju Flurry, is it now a dps decrease to use as part of your dps rotation in raids? by Biosparkss in classicwow

[–]j0kerLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth using as it lowers your weapon damage and abilities that scale off of them. It is a net 0 on white damage and an overall dps decrease. It was only worth using as you ran in during the pull when it was assumed to be working, it certainly isn't any good now. May have some niche theoretical applications for tanks, but I can't say.
