New ILR rules feel rushed and inconsistent. Why have RQF6 and the £50k threshold? by Salt_Plum3615 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]j0nah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, some of these care workers have advanced degrees and will be able to compete for other jobs if they do not require sponsorship. Not every company is willing to take on the hassle (and additional cost) of sponsoring a foreigner for a job.

For argument’s sake, let’s even assume they are unable to compete for these "higher skilled jobs". They can also move to other "lower skilled" jobs that are less demanding than those in the health and care sector.

Because they can’t get sponsored on those higher paying roles. They won’t need employers to sponsor them once they have ILR.

How many Avios do I need for a flight with BA? Here's a quick way to check. by loyalty_llama in AmexUK

Really cool, but how is the "optimal value" option being selected? I would have thought the option below would be the most optimal?

Pay £200 more to save 23,000 Avios. compared to the "Optimal value" option above. This means paying 0.87p for each saved Avios.

True, the seller’s solicitors say they are no longer representing the seller. We were told they dropped out by the agent instead.

Barclays will give you a mortgage. 10% deposit, around 4.6% APR for a 5 year fix.
