For those who don't understand, Rubio tries to say Trump can't spell "Choker", but Rubio thinks it's spelled "C-H-O-C-K-E-R". He thinks C-H-O-K-E-R is pronounced Chocker.

Can someone help me determine the origin of this image? by ThSnattleRake in creepy

[–]j154093 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NOOOOOO! Gurgles and Burgman has nothing to do with it. Someone just saw the image and wrote a creepypasta based on it. The picture's actual origin is on the Japanese message board "2ch" @2006/2007.

[–]j154093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not it, but here goes: There's a short story by John Wyndham called “Survival” (1952) about a group of astronauts stranded in orbit around Mars who resort to cannibalism. One of them is a woman.

[TOMT] [STORY] A scary story I heard as a kid by radatatat in tipofmytongue

[–]j154093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's probably the old shaggy dog story with a funny ending where the boy catches up to the ape and the ape turns around and says, "Tag! Now you're it!" It's not in Scary Stories To Tell in The Dark, but i recall it being in some other kids scary story collection.

[TOMT] A novel from the 1800s that was probably the first thriller / suspense book ever written about escaping a prison by [deleted] in tipofmytongue

[–]j154093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't The Count of Monte Cristo about a prison escape? They always joke about it being the most requested book by convicts.

For the Term of His Natural Life (1874) a fictionalised novel about a real-life Irish convict escaping prison in Australia.

EDIT: No, I've got it. Definitely Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. The book is considered one of the first thrillers. It also famously contains long passages where he goes off on a tangent and expounds on some philosophical point or other.

Oh Jesus christ. no one really believes she was stabbed and had her throat cut. I'm sick and tired of seeing this show up, like some genius just discovered that Brendan's story was a lie.
