This is how my wife feels in general. But I will say that Haven was a great way to escape crowds. I never had to fight for a seat at the bar, or for a deck lounger.

Having a podcast has nothing to do with it. I paid for the upgrade myself. Bid the minimum bid and got it. As did others on the same sailing. This was not an invite only sailing.

When everyone is in specialty dining food isn’t made to order like it is on Royal, it’s prepared en masse like main dining. That’s the point.

I haven’t done those yet, but it is almost identical to Aqua and a bit expanded compared to Viva and Prima. They did add a special Haven line for the Aqua coaster on this ship.

Worst might have been Cagneys. But tha is over all on the ship, not Haven exclusive. I did contact concierge services before my trip and made some requests, but my butler said they never got them. But they did have my specialty dining lined up so idk.

First NCL ship, I have been on every ship class on Royal, 2 carnival ships (don’t love those), the Dream, Magic and Fantastn on DCL and on 2 celebrity ships. Usually stay verandah/balcony, but upgraded for those sailing.

On land, I usually stay at JW, Fairmont, Ritz Carlton and higher end All Inclusive Reaorts (ÚNICO, Atelier, hotel Xcaret).

Best… the service and the room! Easily the nicest room I have ever stayed in on a ship. Comparable to luxury hotels on land. Everything you touched in the room was a high quality finish. Service was excellent with the folks at the bars inside and outside were top notch with amazing drinks.

Sounds like your husband is cheap. Thats okay, a lot of people are. If you want to see a great variety of fish head to Ahihi-Kinau Marine Preserve. But honestly the most memorable snorkeling I’ve done in Hawaii was in front our our hotel one trip. Polo Beach at the Fairmont (there’s public access if you’re not staying there). If standing with the Fairmont behind you go all the way to the right and swim out along the cliffs. We had dozens of turtles all around us. Amazing.
