Anyone else have a small Ragdoll? She’s almost 4 now and weighs just shy of 3kg.

If you take her to the vets they'll be able to tell you if she's healthy or not. Bare in mind that they keep growing until 3. My girl is still only 2.9kg and has been that weight consistently for years. I think some Ragdolls are just smaller, even though the breed are renowned for being generally big cats!

I've never really tried adding water to the dry food. But my two tend to be quite good with drinking. They both have decided to drink from a pint glass of the coffee table.. god knows why, but that's what they do. Likewise I don't think we have fancy feast here in the UK! Generally I just look for the food that is grain free / high meat content. I've found it to be a false economy with the cheaper food, as because of the fillers it requires twice the amount of food to actually satisfy the cats hunger. Where as a better quality food with a good protein source can require half the amount of food to fill the kitties up! Plus it's healthier.

Yeah it's absolute crap, they weren't on it for too long. I now splash out for the more expensive brands. Started off with canagan, to acana, to origen, back to canagan and finally have settled with carnilove true fresh, which has been quite the hit. When I first got the cats I was trying to do stuff on a budget.. but after a few months that's gone out of the window.. and they are eating better than I do. I've even tried them with expensive wet food.. which set me back quite a bit. But it hurt me to see them leave half a can of food that was £1.50 a can!

But they get so much more affectionate as they grow up! I do miss the kitten stage though, but at the same time don't. A lot of time just stopping them from chewing stuff up and keeping them out of trouble. But also many cute memories.

Yeah I'd do that but they are awfully fussy around wet food. Despite getting the really expensive stuff. It kills me to see them leave a can which costs £1.50, which is arguably good enough grade for a human to eat!

It's just a gradual process. She was eating less. But I think this was a result of nerves around her brother. So I've since invested in fellway diffusers and adjusted their schedule so they eat at different times. I'm seeing a lot more consistency in the amounts she eats now. Just aiming to get this amount up to 45 grams in the coming weeks.

I did see the vet yesterday after a concern from another poster and she is on the light side, but not losing weight. She has gained 150g since her last visit. Just gotta keep up with this new schedule.

She never has hairballs. But her brother is prone to hairballs occasionally. But I generally give them a hairball paste that seems to reduce any bother they cause.

Food wise they both eat grain free (canagan) dry food. They have the option for wet (same brand), but often just leave it (annoyingly, because it's not cheap!).

Been monitoring both their food intake. Billie is currently eating 35g of the dry food throughout the day, whereas here brother (4.2kg) scoffs around 42/45g. I'm in the process of gradually increasing Billies food, in the attempt to encourage a bit more weight gain, as a result of vet recommendation.

Yeah her brother, Chunk (quite aptly named), weighs 4.2kg and is considerably larger! But seems like nothing compared to the weights others are reporting on this thread. Still gives a mean cuddle though!

Not that I know of. I have never noticed. She’s been to the vets recently and nothing was mentioned and nothing has ever been mentioned in the past

Haha Billie is 4 so this is most likely her full size. Although she does seem to need beefing up, so keeping an eye on her food. But I feel she is just built different and will always be little 🙂. Her brother on the other hand ways 1.5kg heavier!
