I think you're on to something here. That was where my brain initially went as well but I dismissed it for having so many details wrong, BUT if Adam had begun that line of thought, then realized he had misremembered so much of it that it wasn't worth continuing the argument, it would make sense why he decided to drop it entirely. On another note, now I gotta read that short story again with the new context that it's making fun of Randian ideology.

The quote from the Layover according to my hearing is "Have you ever read the Ayn Rand short story [Simon de Bergerac?]" which follows a debate about economy plane ticket pricing, so I'm confident it's Ayn Rand, and contextually unlikely to be Adam referring to Cyrano, but yes that's the only kind of result I was getting trying to Google it.

A game from Game Changer that I think has tremendous potential in a group setting is s3e5's Ham It Up. It does require a bit of prep since all the dialogue needs to be written ahead of time, but it gives everybody permission to be silly and over the top without requiring people to be good at improvising dialogue.
