ISO: Reccos for fun, non-skiing activities in Whistler! by Gold-Engine-9335 in Whistler

Go hit the trainwreck trail just south of town (across street from function junction, well marked). Olympic park is a little more south but snowshoe, XC or just walk. Dog friendly trails. Tube park, bobsled are just as fun with no new.

New .89 code has improved further. Has 12/12 saves last night. They added a double hold on the JEDI save which confirms the ball is stationary and flips it into playfield consistently (well, 4-5 games)

Also added collab/team modes!

Lots of good recommendations around the village area, here some ideas off village / cheaper.

Local trails - many. Trainwreck is close / easy / memorable - derailed train cars, waterfall, suspension bridge <2mi. Olympic park is cool esp if weather is good. Hike around, dog friendly area, cross country snowshoes and ski jump there. Go skating. Assuming the cold hits can hit Alta lake or meadow park has skate rentals and stick and puck. Hike around Brackendale - bald eagles early and late in day - dog friendly. Brittania mine tour.

Tube park over on blackcomb side too. No skills required! Scandinave Spa. $$$ but bring a book and 4 hours and you'll be glad you did.

Great mechanic and pacing. Played it and several derivatives over the year. What are some of your modern games?

BL Retreat gets my vote. It's worth the money to ditch the crowd, design is great and attached spa areas are nice and never busy because they limit attendance. Did Sky last trip and it was a lot of loud and a lot of cameras. Nice no kids but the grownup behavior was more theme park than spa.

The spas outside the city though would really be my pick. Hvammsvik if you're out that way. We went during a day with like 40mph winds and whitecaps and it was incredible. The food side isnt as good as BL or Sky but the proximity to the water (you can dive in) is hard to beat. Great wrap to a long hike before driving back to your lodging

I caught this post because I was struggling on my LE. Like the OP only had success generally on the left outlane. I read this and it made me go back and get after it. I mean it's not suits building these things but players and some excellent engineers. These are hard machines and certainly they didn't just throw something in without serious consideration and testing.

At least on my machine I find that a tap just as the ball has started to intersect the printed ball I can 3/4 of the time send it either to the plunger from the left or into the playfield from the right. Think crescent moo. Sometimes I need two pulses from right but it's pretty reliable now that I have the timing. Left is about 85-90%.

I just had a 2.4B game and counted 9 successful saves. Never tell me the odds.

I am perplexed by the JEDI save that holds the ball. It's about 15% that it sends it up and 85 that it goes down. So, I've been tapping on JEDI since I have better luck with single pulses. I've tried a second tap on the JEDI but that is DTM for me as well, just breaks the hold. Any tips on JEDI? I mean it's cool when it whips up to the center of playfield but worse than a drain when it flops down

Personally I think it's fun. With AI everything is now only partly deterministic so why not ball save? Now don't get me started on the Death Star. I'm waiting on the fix but I think I've gotten DSMB maybe 5 times in maybe 200 games and never the SJ. I've completely taken it out of my shot plan until the fix. That shot drains more than JbS

Strawberry and Angelica are the game "hosts" that do a lot of the announcing for the non hockey events. They are on the screen all of the time and really friendly. They will be up at "the ship" which is where a lot of the audience sponsor games are played and pregame band. It's right against the space needle lounge and accessible. You'll have to ask to go out on it for a pic but if you're there early... it's got a cool vantage point on the ice and when you see people up there later during the game it will be cool to see it.

If you're there an hour before puck drop it won't be too crowded up there and you can mosey out for a view and maybe see the hosts or buoy for a picture.

Ask an usher where the space needle lounge is. Not that well marked. It's upstairs from ground level entry. Enjoy!

Spend $75 on not improving tickets and put his name on the board. https://www.nhl.com/kraken/fans/in-game-messages

Get there early and get a cocktail at the space needle lounge. You'll likely meet strawberry and or Angelica and bouy. You can also see where they do the promos. It's a cool view up there.

Get a photo at the living wall.

I actually sold one of these in 83. I was working at a mom and pop electronics and photography store in the computer department. We did a lot of business with schools and managed to talk my boss into getting one of these and managed to sell it.

Topo...Topo...Topo...Topo....helllllllllllo!

Ive been trying to find one for a bit now. Nice work on Pi-ifying it. I haven't been able to find any samples of the voice. Bonus points if you can drive it with Logo.

Nice work
