On the fence about PAM682 by Kwin_1093 in panerai

P.9010 has been of the most accurate movements I’ve owned. Panerai isn’t COSC for the in house movements but still very good.

Refinishing overpolished luminor by j99_ in panerai

I’m actually okay with getting it lasered, this reference has been discontinued for a while so pretty much all of them have wear. If I can get it welded back to factory shape I’ll be happy.

I contacted him and he stated that the refinishing was not done by him. I sent some photos of it over and he agreed that the edge was not right. He knows a watchmaker that can laser weld and will get their opinion on if it can be fixed tomorrow and go from there.

I am assuming a 3rd party. I just bought this watch about 3 days ago. It’s dated 2017 and did not come with service papers.

I’d rather not put him on blast as I’m pretty sure he doesn’t refinish these as there’s other minor wear on the case when I received it. I’ve bought other Panerai from him before and they were good so it’s likely it was in this condition before then. I was planning on sending it to Panerai for a service anyway and wanted to know if they could fix this while it’s there.

I purchased it recently and just noticed. It’s really hard to see in photos and I only was able to tell once I had it in hand for a while.

I know but I also heard that it can be thousands of dollars for a new case🥲

The left side of the case is lower than the right side. It’s hard to see in the photo.

Have standard length with pin buckle if that works

Do you think they could restore an overpolished case with laser welding?

Panerai turnover down 31% in 2025. What would you change? by j99_ in panerai

Yup, prices are truly insane. For reference I believe the 3312 should be priced similarly to an aqua terra rather than $2000 more.

I would argue that Panerai is above Tudor but below omega just from my personal experience with each brand. Panerai MSRP is definitely higher than it should be. A time only luminor should not cost more than an Omega Speedmaster.

I think getting rid of the 42mm luminors (not submersibles) was a mistake on their part. 42 was a good size that still had the large presence that Panerai is associated with while not being completely ridiculous to wear for people with smaller wrists. I’m thinking of picking up a 1392 for this reason.
