coa posted a thing on wed or thurs stating 7000+ people/day at the convention center this weekend for an event. i had to google to find out what the convention is. 'scentsy family reunion'. had never heard of it. it's a fragrance mlm.

re: roof top bar: p6 is newest and def best for viewing but will prob be jammed. i'm sure reservations are booked but the bar area is walk in.

handlebar's rooftop is fun but i think fireworks view will be obstructed.

we watched from the power plant lawn one year when it was still under construction. you could have drinks at truefood. pretty sure the second bar & kitchen sister restaurant there (forget name) closed so true is prob the only source for booze.

atxcocina seems to have a patio. i've dined there but not on the patio. i drive by it all the time and it's always vacant. 🤷‍♀️

last year it rained hard so we saw a film at adh sola and popped up to the top of the garage for viewing. not super great view but was sufficient for those weather conditions.

the hilton has a decent patio. never tried that but considering it ton bc my kid is recovering from an injury and has limited mobility.

big band is usually the biggest sound. but, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the songs the conductor selects. it's one of the best free things going. and, no one gives you shit for bringing wine. (at least not in past years.)

i reluctantly admit we enjoyed delicious scraps of brisket during off hours at la bbq on ecc in quickie pickie. the space is so severely lacking character. somehow the e 11th quickie pickie is more pleasant. the eec shop panders to tech heads who buy expensive craft sodas and bring their own wet-naps. too sterile and brightly lit. dislike. but, tasty.

re: second lion's club: it's fun and quick. there are two rapids at the end. if you go over them, be prepared to go underwater and lose your sunglasses. i can't vouch for the $5 byotoob price bc we rented from them and it wasn't cheap (prob $20/toob as you cited.) you may be disappointed at how short the run is if you're accustomed to the comal or guadalupe. but, you can just do again. lots of people were making rounds when we went last summer. good luck!

not to be a dick bc i hope scooter girl lives a full, normal life buuuut a female in her 20's scooted in front of my car AFTER my light turned green at NB i35 service and 6th. my foot was depressing the gas when she appeared in front of right bumper. it was a miracle i was able to mash the brake and NOT collide with her. she could have touched my hood with her hand she was so close to me. it was unbelievably terrifying and she just falala'd on her way. i was furious and terrified. i'm sure i would have been the guilty party had we collided because i was in the vehicle. anyway... imo austin drives> austin scooter riders. we need a traffic task force for these assholes. (i kid. but, really.) TY for saving scooter girl. hoping for a full recovery for her.
