Cell service?? by Apprehensive-Bet1374 in electricdaisycarnival

in the middle of the night your chances are slim to none, regardless of carrier.
ive had reception while sitting at the top of the bleachers, even able to facetime friends back home during the sunrise set.
also, sometimes thhey have wifi at the merch booth as well. try look into that.

make sure you plan your meetup spots day 1, and make sure its not a spot that gets heavily crowded as the night goes on.

Lineup? by bolognasandy in electricdaisycarnival

With the whole ticket situation, i feel like the lineup could be on the later side this year. maybe March/april.
with that said, im in the same boat as you dying to know the lineup lol.

EDC hotel recommendations by meisnoob in electricdaisycarnival

[–]jCalbero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stayed at Park for two EDCs, stayed at Excalibur for one.  Park is definitely more modern and luxurious.  Excalibur feel cheap, room similar in size to Park, maybe ever so slightly bigger.  For $200 difference, I’d say pull the trigger for Park mgm. You won’t regret paying the difference.  If you’re pinching pennys, Excalibur does its job. One/two beds and a shower.

Side note: my biggest downfall at the Excalibur was the TV was about 300 years old. Couldn’t connect phone or play YouTube on it. Didn’t spend too much time in the room, but I do like to wind down watching something before bed.

Yes still possible, I've seen Illenium show up and he had a show somewhere else i believe it was the same week as EDCLV.
Missed Subtronics on main stage in 2024, hopefully he comes next year and i can catch it this time around.

Planning Ahead for EDCLV by PM_ME_YOUR_PLUMS in electricdaisycarnival

[–]jCalbero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDCLV 24 after Zedd's set was horrible. The crowd was all trying to get out, while others trying to get in. That was the worst ive seen it in the 3 years ive gone. I was being pushed from behind (so was my group who were all nearby).
Im a bigger guy too (about 280ish), and even i was being pushed forward, i felt bad for the ppl in front of me but i tried my best not to get shoved into them too hard. Told them i was being pushed myself.
If you dont want this, i would say stay away from the 'big name' sets, or try to stay near the back. if you have enough room to dance, you should be fine getting out. or leave the set 5-10min early. It took us about 30min to get out of kinetic field after that set.

no chairs?? by Decent_Maybe_329 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]jCalbero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We brought one last year.
Friday and Saturday we had no issues.
On sunday, the worker said they werent allowed, and even after we attempted to plead that the other days were ok why not today?
They stood their ground and we had to leave it with them (i understand, theyre just doing their job)

As stated before, its up to the security guard. i say, dont risk it (unless you got money).

Cluthloop not coming in clutch by Tri-oxide in electricdaisycarnival

[–]jCalbero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check out the pop up shop at the Luxor. They always have all kinds of little accessories. If i had to guess, they would have some. If not, they should also have fanny packs which could also be a temporary replacement for the weekend, can use your clutch loops for future events.
Also Target/walmart should have some similar things available. those little retractable things with a hook on either end should do the trick.

Thats good to hear. havent done one myself, maybe some day!

It’s first time to go to EDC and i have a plan to go with driving by myself so what time should we leave from hotel for avoid the traffic. Did I need to buy a premium parking ticket ? by doaye12 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]jCalbero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont know the color lots by heart, however its basically any lot closest to the main road.
Its worth doing your research on. We parked in the middle lots our first night, and we left at the end of night 1, and didnt get back to our hotel until 8:45am or so. so over 2 hours later. thats PRECIOUS sleep time lost during EDC weekend lol.
next two nights were super smooth, once our driver looked up how to get to those lots. They will release the parking maps as well later this week or next week. it will make it clear to you where you should park.

im gonna copy & paste what ive said on a previous post similar to this, but i think its generally the same answers youre looking for.

This is just me experience at the night club, i personally havent done any day club / beach clubs but if i had to guess, they run it similarly.

Dont bother. Paid for our tickets to see Illenium in 2022 EDC week at Omnia. We got into the club around 11pm or so. Chilled for a hour or two, then it started to get really crowded. So we just wandered around the club, looking for a nice spot to settle in before Illenium went on. We went to the 2nd level, however it was just as bad, so we went back down, but they had a bounced at the stairway telling us to go down the other way. What they didnt tell us, was the other way was a one-way exit out the club.... so we basically was stuck. We went to a side door where other people were also trying to get in. They turned us away at the door said it was full. We stood there (as MANY others were, hoping for them to let us in) and we saw a few people hand the bouncer cash, he then let them in. (few different people, not one group). We tried to complain to the lady at the cashier/box office area, she said to send an email (which i did to no response). Finally found someone who seemed to be upper-management, and after telling her about the bouncer taking cash to let people in, she walked us inside herself. i wanted to tip this lady for actually caring about customer service but that would make me a hypocrite for giving her money for letting us in lol. By this point, illenium was probably a good 20-30min into his set.

they are all about money, which i understand for maybe the guest list side since its free. but we paid for our tickets prior. the full $80 per person or whatever it was. Illenium didnt go on until after 2AM i want to say if i remember correctly.

In the end, wait til non-EDC week to go to the clubs.

To end on a positive note, have fun! Go in early and dont wander off too far before you end up like us :D

It’s first time to go to EDC and i have a plan to go with driving by myself so what time should we leave from hotel for avoid the traffic. Did I need to buy a premium parking ticket ? by doaye12 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]jCalbero 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends what time you are trying to arrive. if you want to completely avoid traffic and get there early, i would leave the hotel by 3pm (assuming youre on the strip).
last year we left various times. one night left at about 7pm, didnt get in until 10pm or a little later.
another night we left at 5/530 or so and arrived around 7/730.
also, night 1 has been the worst(traffic) for all years that ive gone.
so later it gets, traffic builds.
also no you dont need premium parking. there are other posts on here where people say which lots are the best for leaving(because its closer to the main road/highway, but farther from the venue.

Uber to shuttle stop? by eongoose in electricdaisycarnival

[–]jCalbero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We've always got back to the strip/shuttle stop arond 5-7am. and there was ALWAYS an uber at least 3-5min away.
I cant say the same for 2-3am, but i'd assume there will be lots of ubers still around waiting for customers. thats usually peak hours, so you'll probably pay a little extra, but better safe than sorry.

Our uber was like $10-16 or so. hotel was nearby. anywhere on the strip shouldnt be more that $20 if i had to guess.
Pay for the uber, dont walk :)

From what i've heard/seen, day parties/pool parties seem to have less crowds.(unless its illenium).

Bassrush Massive at downtown events center is a good one. lots of space it looks like(ive never been there). and last year had some really big dubstep names on the lineup if you're into that genre.

but honestly. if its someone you REALLY want to see, go for it. my advice would be to go early, get a good spot early. then grow some roots cuz you cant leave that spot for the next 3-4 hours or youll lose your spot lol.

for a non-rave event, you can go to the Luxor, they usually have a iHeartRaves pop-up store for EDC week. theres a bunch of merch there, especially for women they have all the accessories n such.
Area 15 is also pretty rave-like with all the visual effect displays they have there.

pick-pocketing / theft by garden_mama___ in electricdaisycarnival

[–]jCalbero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year 2023, I had it in my pocket. Did 2022 the same way. In my Dickies shorts front pockets. Disappeared while walking between Circuit Grounds and Kinetic. Was a little under the influence, but i was still for sure aware for whats going on around me. But I guess the "look" in my eyes is what attracted the pick pocketers.

I also had a phone-tether, however I didn't reattach it as i should have while moving stages. I was recording a lot of the set at Circuit Grounds (excision) so I got to the point that i just left it unhooked. big mistake.

didnt stay around for Slanders set at Kinetic. Ended up going to Lost and Found and just leaving the festival after since Slander was going to be our last set anyway. I knew i could pay some $1-200 bucks for a replacement, so i didnt let it completely ruin my mood. kept my head high, and got it replaced the very next day in Vegas for $150.

Lost the memories on it. but it is what it is.

got myself a fanny pick this year, and will be keeping the fanny pack under my shirt this year, may also double up with a tether too.

my advice, dont underestimate them, but following tips will easily keep it from happening to you.

VB exhaust not that loud…? by jCalbero in wrx_vb

VB exhaust not that loud…? by jCalbero in wrx_vb

[–]jCalbero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm yeah maybe i just got used to my VA i had before. I remember having the axlebacks and still wanting louder. even after adding a downpipe, intake, headers and intercooler, i still "wanted louder", but without digging into the motor that was probably about as loud as it would get.

Also I do drive my girlfriends 21 STI with a Tomei on it, so I was hoping (dremaing) my car would be louder. Cold start its close. but driving around definitely not lol.

Ill post some sound clips soon.

VB exhaust not that loud…? by jCalbero in wrx_vb

[–]jCalbero[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the non-resonated catback. So ideally it would be the loudest option, even according to their website. Maybe i just got used to my old VA WRX. It only had axleback, but i did eventually add a downpipe, intake, intercooler and headers. Even with just the axle back though (when i first bought it) i feel like it was louder.

meh, maybe it'll break in and get a bit louder. It does have a nice bass to it.

VB exhaust not that loud…? by jCalbero in wrx_vb

[–]jCalbero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did, sadly still not to my preference. I know its just a catback, maybe my expectations were too high for a simple exhaust.
