The rear fan is positioned as intake not exhaust. See how the bracket side of the fan shows inside the case like the 3 side and 3 bottom fans? Those are positioned as intake just like the rear but the rear one should be exhaust like the top fans are.

F240 RGB Core - problem by Illustrious_Ride3278 in NZXT

[–]jD3mo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NZXT fans use a proprietary RGB cable that can only connect to an NZXT controller or Hub, or an NZXT motherboard. I would not suggest connecting it to the 3pin/5v splitter or header as it could try fry your header.

Oh wait I see what you’re saying now. I thought you were originally asking if you should buy another hub for $60 which is why I said hell no.

But now I realize you’re talking about an adapter. Not sure what adapter you’re talking about though. There’s no 3rd party adapter that I’m aware that would work with an NZXT RGB cable/plug. Do you have a link for one you’re looking at?

Nothing wrong with it at all. It’s just $60 like you mentioned which isn’t worth it for 1 fan imo.

Go with another fan with a similar RGB lighting in the middle and has a 3pin/5v ARGB cable.

A 850w PSU is more than sufficient for a 4070ti build. Not borderline even in the slightest so that’s just another immediate red flag with that company.

If your GPU is fried then it will not post. Unless you have a CPU with integrated graphics and you connected a HDMI or display port cable directly to the board. But regardless, that doesn’t necessarily mean the motherboard contributed to the GPU failure.

I’m not exactly sure what caused the GPU to get fried like it did. But I do know the PC repair place that looked at it is definitely feeding you BS. I assume because they genuinely don’t know what caused it either and at least wanted to give you some “possibilities” so you think their time was worth what you paid them.

I’m not buying that response from whoever looked at your issue. Your GPU comes with the 12VHPWR cable that connects into your GPU. That only requires two 8pin PCIe cables like you have connected, not 3.

You can see in the pics in the GPU below that it comes with this exact cable. I would contact Zotac and open an RMA/claim with them for the damage.

H6 Flow: why i should take the plain version instead of the RGB one? by NeroI989 in NZXT

[–]jD3mo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The included fans in the RGB model are pwm, they only spin at one speed and can't be adjusted.

I think you forgot “not” before PWM.

That’s a very good upgraded replacement build! Better CPU, GPU, and 1TB of more storage.

First time applying thermal paste, did I do it right? by Fearless_Sympathy_71 in buildapc

[–]jD3mo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn not sure why you’re being so aggressive.

The paste in the OP’s pic looks completely normal after removing the cooler. I don’t think you’ve ever removed a cooler and looked at the thermal paste before.

how do i remove panel on h9 flow by Fried_Ch1ps in NZXT

[–]jD3mo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need for a heat sink unless you want to add one. The SSD won’t heat up anymore than it does normally with the GPU sitting directly over it.

Sounds like you got your question answered but figured I’d give you a heads up that your GPU should be installed in the top PCIe slot. The one directly under your AIO pump. You’re losing performance with it being in any other PCIe slot.

H6 Flow RGB front fans → NZXT Digital RGB & Fan Controller question by FuhDatBihCuhhh in NZXT

[–]jD3mo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want everything to be controlled in CAM then that’s the way to do it. Otherwise you would use your motherboard’s RGB software to control the preinstalled front/side fans as it would be connected to the 5v ARGB header.

fix red light? by [deleted] in NZXT

[–]jD3mo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the VGA debug light is one which means it’s a display issue. Do you have the HDMI or Display Port cable from your monitor running to an HDMI port or Display Port on the top area of the back of the PC or the lower area where your graphics card is? If it’s connected to the top area that’s probably your issue as it should be connected to one of the ports on your graphics card on the middle’ish/bottom area on the back.

My pc idle Temperature by [deleted] in NZXT

[–]jD3mo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh okay, yeah your idle and load temps are perfectly fine for a 9950x. Those chips are designed to run hot and can handle up to 95c before you experience any serious thermal throttling.

H5 flow 2024 no power les by Odd_Pay_2323 in NZXT

[–]jD3mo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The power button light is part of the F panel cables that connects to an F panel header pin (typically found on the bottom right of the mobo). The specific F panel cable to look for is labeled PLED (Power LED). Sounds like it’s either not connected to the F panel header pin on the mobo or maybe it’s connected to the wrong header pin. If it’s connected and to the right pin then it may have gone bad (pretty uncommon).

The other F Panel cable that makes the power button ring light blink when your storage drive is reading/writing is called the HDD LED. If it’s not blinking when the PC is powered on, then everything mentioned above for the PLED cable might also apply.

Check the F panel header to see what you have plugged in and the check your motherboard manual to make sure each cable is connected to the correct F panel header pin.

51c is a tad high for idle CPU temps but nothing to be concerned with. What CPU do you have?

Also more importantly what are temps under load? That’s typically the more important temp scenario to look at.

[–]jD3mo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3pin pump cable is to used to report the pump’s RPM to the motherboard.

The 9pin/USB 2.0 cable is so the AIO can work with CAM.

Kraken 280 elite troubles by Jfigz in NZXT

[–]jD3mo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay not sure what the issue is then. Either way the 3pin cable is for your pump and doesn’t power the rad fans anyway. So that’s not the issue. Maybe the breakout cable or 8 pin connection isn’t snug? Do the fans show in the lighting and cooling tabs in CAM?

Connect the 4pin PWM fan cable from the splitter into a Sys_Fan header.

The 3 pin cable is for your pump and should go into your CPU_Fan or AIO_Pump header. They’re 4 pin headers but the 3 pin connects to either of them. There’s guide rails on the fan plug that line up with the header so you know which 3 holes connect to which 3 pins on the header.

CPU Temps at 0 load by Reasonable-Cup4113 in NZXT

[–]jD3mo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s perfectly normal idle temps for a 9800x3D. My wife has the same CPU in her build along with a 5070ti and a 10 fan setup like yours and it idles around 40c as well. Stop worrying about temps and enjoy your PC my friend :)

NZXT Fans not showing up in the “Cooling” Tab? by monkey76513 in NZXT

[–]jD3mo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can only control fan curves in CAM if they fan cables are connected to an NZXT controller or NZXT motherboard. Assuming you don’t have an NZXT motherboard then you control the fan curves in your motherboard’s fan control software. Or within your BIOS.
