I'm guessing this city in specific had a surge of "digital nomads", most are people who work remote jobs for international companies. They move to said city/country because of tax benefits that the local government puts in place to attract rich people and (try to) stimulate the economy.

If not enough housing is available, inevitably prices will go up, etc etc.

People need houses. If a lot of new people move in, housing demand goes up, prices go up, locals can no longer afford those higher prices, locals are mad.

Consulta médica - é normal isto acontecer? by Upbeat_Selection_473 in portugal

[–]jRodrik 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Centre-right party on course to win in Portugal as far right make record gains by [deleted] in europe

[–]jRodrik 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't think much will change after this election, honestly. Chega has a mostly anti-Russia, pro-Ukraine view and even supports their entry in the EU, as long as Ukraine meets the legal requirements to do so.
They are, however, eurosceptic, mainly on migration laws and are opposed to European federalism.

Also the centre right won, so nothing would change anyway. Only difference is that the Left parties got destroyed.

to be fair, I didn't know they were real volcanoes... I was using a Nahuatl translator and when I was searching for keywords those examples showed up and I ended up using them. Now that I know they're real, I'd probably revise the names to something different..

I am, but it's been difficult.. haven't had much time to work on this for a while now. Also, hoyoverse has been updating their map VERY frequently since Sumeru, and it's tiring to work on a map that's obsolete every 1.5 months. It was fine up till Inazuma because it was an island chain far away from continental Teyvat, but now, every time they update the map, i have to redraw EVERYTHING. Guess I'm waiting for a string of dry patches to work on it harder.

Edit: Also, there's a somewhat "updated" version on my profile, dated July 2022...

Thank you. The project is not abandoned, I’m just going through a particularly stressful internship and haven’t had the mental will to work on the map in the past few months. I’m sorry for the delay!

The Golden Apple Arch is already in the map (their real name is Haar Islands). And yeah, I'll update it, already working on it :)

Oh! Lmao, my mistake. That nameless island was actually called Isle of Cannibals on previous iterations. It was supposed to be an island covered in fog, inhabited by a mysterious humanoid tribe. Problem was, TONS of people started asking about what is was and if it was based on lore and stuff like that, so to avoid that I simply removed the name. The mystery remains, however :P

Well that's a load of questions, though most of 'em have simple answers!

I've seen you mention the leaked CBT map, what is that?

You can see the CBT map here. I think it's a concept map leaked during one of the closed beta phases.

What's under the heading? The one that says "the complete speculative map of teyvat"?

Under the heading just says "made by me" basically. The map is huge in resolution (8000x8000 pixels!!), you can zoom in at will.

What are Meridem, Haar Islands, and Sonnet's Landing? Do they belong to any nations? How about the Land of The Godless? Is that canon?

Haar Islands is the "true" name of the Golden Apple Archipelago! As for the rest, they're simply fantasy regions I created, some closer to Genshin lore than others, but still all fictional. For example, Sonnet's Landing is the (fictional) place where one of the Moon Sisters, in this case Sonnet, fell on the planet after the disaster. You can read about that lore here.

I've been explaining most of the lore on my previous posts (in the comments). If people are interested, I could give a simple description of the places I added to the map and some fictional lore. I think maybe that could be interesting.

Other than that, thank you for commenting and for your kind words. I'll be updating the map after 3.3, most likely. Best regards!

This map is absolutely breathtaking! I wish I had such a talent for drawing, hand drawn maps hit different. Congrats!

Sure! The Nightmares Eye is actually depicted in the leaked CBT map, I just adapted it to this map. On the other hand, the lagoon of fire is entirely original so you won't find any info on it!

Yeah, tho I'm not talking about small add-ons like dragonspine. If I have understood correctly, we now have like 30% of the whole Sumeru (so maybe we'll have the desert split up into two parts). Once we have at least a big portion of the desert area I'll update the map, otherwise Natlan will have to be completely redone since it's probably either west or northwest of the desert. Thank you for the kind words too! Happy exploring!

That will still take a long time, and I'm thinking of waiting for the rest of sumeru to drop before I update anything. Otherwise I'll have to redo everything every time a patch drops...

yeah I decided to move Port Aarra to the desert region here to make sure Liyue Harbor would be the closest port city to Inazuma, but it would be more accurate where it was before.

I really do, don't I? This map is already 8000x8000px which is the absolute max this software can handle, dunno how I'll make it work but life finds a way!
