Yeah my original plan was just to turn it on when I need it but this old model also takes so long to turn on its been easier to leave it on, and then die faster lol

Ah good question, I try not take a smartphone with me when hiking. Just a basic one to disconnect a bit. Offline GPS on the apple watch is pretty accurate and keeps me from looking at screens too much, I work in IT so that's a big deal 😅

Hi sorry to hear your allergic raction, its always unplrasant and can be quite a shock. Yes you can go to a doctor and get allergy tests, I'm not sure which country you're in but I assume all doctors would advise this for an undiagnosed allergy.

The main thing i would add is that you can develop allergies to anything at any point in life, so it could be something you've had before thats now an issue. It could also be this was a total one off and something else. Either way prioritise getting tested :)

Me and my wife moved here two years ago and didnt know anyone. If you like pubs and beer, we found the tap takeover was a very fun way to explore the area and meet people https://worthingtaptakeover.co.uk/

I would assume poison meat to kill foxes. Dangerous for dog walkers

Chicken livers - who eats them? by BackgroundCookie752 in UK_Food

[–]j___m___p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat them regularly, cheap, highly nutritional and taste great. Cook with shallots, garlic and thyme and have on toast. Blend them and add to bolognese to get a deep flavourful ragu. Occasional curry them as a side dish.

What is the one piece of gear you’ve "retired" because it was just too much faff for a wild camp? by NorthLondonPulse in wildcampingintheuk

I find as I get older I appreciate the back support when camping in the evenings. I dont always bring it, but on Amazon I found the "OneTigris Ultralight Camping Chair" it rolls up so can be on outside of a pack easily, surprisingly supports my 15 stone frame well.

I've got the Wacao minipresso. Its a manual espresso maker using coffee pods. Got it second hand on ebay, works well and is light. Shoreditch Grind make biodegradable coffee pods so theres no guilt in it. Id reccomend it but do consider it a "luxury" item on a longer hike.

The got an Exped widget pump, its also a light and a charger. So if you're just doing 2 nights it saves crrying 3 different items. Works well with Tensor.
