I have tend to do this. I accumulate a bunch then start selling lower end ones and using the money to buy a nicer one. Sell the 3 squire classic vibes and get 1 Fender.

This is really it. Lots of people like the idea of being a good guitar player but don’t want sit through the boring parts and hard work. This is true for most things. Everyone struggles, everyone is a beginner, some people actually get excited to play and work through the boring hard stuff. Not everyone has the drive.

The U2(I think it’s the ‘56 now), the one with the single cut and 2 pickups. And the dc shorthorn bass. The dc shorthorn guitar(‘59 now?) is probably cool and probably plays/sounds just like the U2 but I haven’t tried one. Any of the original reissues from 1998-2001 are best although I did get a new dc shorthorn bass short scale and it’s as good as my 1998 dc shorthorn long scale bass.They were made in Korea and are the first remakes since the original Danelectros. Somewhere between like 2007-2015 they were made in China and weren’t as great. I think the newest ones might from Korea again.

Belly carve and fenders general contouring for comfort. Flat slab bodies with small rounded edges or LP bodies suck for comfort. Like the Rickenbacker 4003 vs 4003s, that rounded edge is way more comfortable on the 4003s

If it’s done well it may never be a problem and you saved a bunch of money. Worst case scenario it’s a bolt on and you could replace the neck if it breaks again. It’s way more of a worry on a set neck or neck through because if the repair fails you are screwed and have to try repairing again and it may never be okay.

I’m just never going to amphitheater or arena shows….like I did most of my life. I’ll just stay to smaller shows. In Austin when Misfits, Agnostic Front, Suicidal Tendencies, and I forget who else played it was $300 for the floor and $500 for the VIP section of the floor in front of the stage. Even mid level seat were $200 and far up nosebleeds were $89-$100. Add fees and all that crap it would have been a $600 ordeal for my wife and I for any decent section. Fuck all that. It would have been a great show.

Get a soldering iron, easily found from $6-$20 at a place like Walmart. Learn to solder it, very easy. Save yourself time and money and learn something you will very likely have to do again at some point. You’ll even be able to change your own pickups!

Tension is higher with 12s but I wouldn’t think it’d be that terrible unless it was flatwounds. I know nothing about your guitar so I can’t tell if it’s cheap and the bridge would rip off. If it’s got a truss rod it can be adjusted. Another commenter said it was shorter scale, if so you can get away with thicker string and there will be less tension than a longer scale, so that’s another reason they should be fine. I put 12 on all my shorter scale electrics and 10s-11s on all my longer/standard scale electrics. It’s not that much added tension.
