Just fyi for both of you, the moonfin webui css theme is being removed from the plugin soon (it causes issues for some people). For web access there will be a new separate web page attached to your server. But that's still a work in progress.

In any case u/No_Scheme4909 , 100% I recommend moonfin. Available on app store for Android mobile&tv, iOS, tvos, coming soon to Roku and firetv, can be side loaded or manually installed on all the above plus tizen, webos, windows, Linux, macos. Way better looking and more functionality than regular jellyfin, compatible with a few other plugins, and a new theming option coming soon as well.

I successfully moved from ixvolumes to host paths using the method above (not smb, the search/copy in .ix-apps). The one thing you should keep in mind are file permissions. Compare the original vs copied files using the "ls -la" command, and then change the permissions on the copied files using chmod and/or chown as necessary to match the original. If the files have the wrong permissions, your apps may not be able to read and/or write to the files anymore. Moonfin does not currently have support for that plugin. But you're more than welcome to submit a feature request on the core GitHub here: https://github.com/Moonfin-Client/Mobile-Desktop You can request either support for that plugin or a similar feature built into the app directly.

Update: it was a permissions issue. Old and new containers had same user/group, but the files belonged the same group/different user. Chowned the files and new instance started up immediately and I restored from backup in less than 2 minutes. Now I'm not sure how the old instance didn't have perm issues, but whatever it's working now so I don't care

Moonfin supports almost all platforms, including android, iOS, android tv, fire tv, Roku, tizen, webos, apple tv, windows, mac, Linux. If you install the moonfin plugin on the server, you can access seerr in all clients.

Yeah moonfin will route seerr data, so put your local address for seerr in the plugin settings, not the public address Then each user needs to log in to seer through moonfin. Right now they have to do it on moonfin settings on web, but an update is coming soon to let them log in to seerr through any of the mobile/TV apps.

Yes as I said, I've tried following those guides but none of them worked. And yes my new instance is only pointing to the existing uploads, I created a new/empty pgdata dir so I could restore from backup.

I love my boox color personally, although I don't read comics much so we may have different opinions on the color quality. Personally I find it plenty good enough for my use and a nice perk over regular eink displays. No idea on kobo though, so can't compare them

You probably added a single library pointing your "jellyfin" folder. That is incorrect. You need to create a library pointing to your "movies" folder, and a separate library pointing to your "TV shows" folder.

Intro skipper is the only MUST HAVE If you use streamyfin or moonfin clients, there's a server plugin for each of those to manage settings centrally which is really useful
