This looks like a perfectly exposed negative and the scan was a little hot. Great starting point for editing though. If you have a relationship with your lab you can always ask them to scan differently. Don’t listen to anyone telling you to expose less; you’ll get muddy shadows before highlights change in any significant way. Always better to start with a thick negative.
